Hints and Tips for LongRange MGs

Has anyone got tips on how to use the LR mg?
Everyone says it is a great gunners secondary for a SR mg. But I can't seem to make it, well, work.
At long range it doesn't hit anything. At medium range it is ok but the cheeser does the same damage per shot and lands more hits. In CQ it gets eaten by the cheeser, and even by the basic guns.

So can people give tips on how to use it properly?

Usual advice is to get FF since it obviously helps.

After using the LR MG, I can safely tell you that you can easily hit targets at long range once you get a hang of aiming it.

The trick is to move the crosshair in a small vertical, or horizontal line depending on the situation, around your target and the spread of the bullets will eventually start hitting. Once you start doing damage, keep at what your doing and you'll be able to get snipers (they'd have to be targeting someone else or just be blind/afk, of course). Do this motion + FF and you'll be insane.

I haven't used FF much... but now im trying it I see you are right.

It´s not non-spread but obviously way less spread than without.
In my opinion FF is somewhat like the most important ability for gunner.

I guess I fell in love with HS early on... and it clouded my judgment.

IMO, when you learn how to aim, go back to HS or something. FF only works if you can actually get shots off and if your being perma BSed, FF is useless.

My second gunner has a SR and LR MG. It took sometime to get the LR MG dialed in but it has been very rewarding. I can harass and enemy as they are getting closer then finish them off with the SRmg when they are close enough.
