Commando's disavantage with chest

If got a question if you're a commando and you snipe someone from long range, the chest would appear where the guy died? => a long way trip to the chest + dying a few times (when you shot him at his base)

Nah, just kill someone and if they drop a chest you'll see an icon of a chest on your screen, that means you got one. You don't have to walk and pick up a chest xD.

It's a sign, Don't use snipers.

What do these chests do? Do they give you anything? I haven't played the game in a week.

But whatever they are, they sound like another reason for me to use knife and not snipe.

They are kind of like the supply boxes as in they give you random items but you need to buy keys for them which cost 500 funds and I think you get 2 keys for free.
The chests arent a reason to knife instead of sniper though because you don't need to pick them up.

It is pretty sweet. Only problem is when you don't want any more chests, you keep receiving them, and they are annoying IMO.
