Very good technically, even though i would murder you for that goddamn blur around the edge of the screen. I would like to see more of what they would have done out of boredom (blasting jeeps on each other, rocket jump to oblivion, etc.) before killing each other. All in all, good job, good idea and very well executed. Lots of effects tend to "razzle and dazzle" the viewer and is often used to hide a bad story, here, the effects and story goes together to create a masterpiece of a machinima.

Holdfast
Its a music video alright and not a montage, so it's nothing wrong with it. But to be frank, its videos of heroes wearing dinoheads. Very good technically, and no fancy pancy filters or effects to cover up. I would rather see a story, perhaps dinosaurs teaming up against nats and royals, or perhaps spreading fear in a village, making the inhabitants flee for the life, and then the dinos take the town for themself. Or dinos fighting robots/zombies/werewolves.
Its battlefield Heroes after all!

Rowan
Decent technically, unsure why you blur out the names. The idea itself is nice, a story of father and son, but it lacks conflict, the characters don't have any problems to solve. Thus it makes for a "he came, he saw, he conquered" story, there is nothing to keep the viewers watching and didn't get anything out of watching it. The story ends with the father leaving his son? I'd rather see the son leaving while his father was in tears, it would be such a much better story. Very good use of costume, unsure why you had the bfh theme music as it doesn't fit, very good use of emotions and widgets.

Strikerss Epic Cowboy duel
Decent technically, did you film in 1080? It feels edgy and low quality, breaking the immersion. I'd also see to it that you'd remove that ugly "old film" filter. It doesn't work. TGBU music is perhaps too famous to be used, but its okay. Good editing, it feels western, but try having even more diversity between ultra-close up and total shots. Story wise, not so good. If you had a "Wanted, dead or alive" poster of the national, it would have helped, giving the viewers a reason to either hate or love the characters. The rifle ending could have been better, considering this is Battlefield Heroes. You could have used a widget, a bazooka, a flying jeep, a space weapon, a zombie etc; you get the point.

WOAH WOAH WOAH..... Let's take a step back here. They post they event now? NOW??? After the competition is over?! The amount of "disappoint" I am feeling cannot be expressed in words. This is just unbelievable. And what about all those great and fantastic machinimas that never got to be votw because of No-Hud. Diary of an Ace anyone?

This is so undeniably unbelievable... The amount of times this contest was extended, just to garnish more entries than what........ 4???? The competition got so freaking desperate at one point that all the rules went out the window for this contest and entries specification completely changed so there was no requirements whatsoever. So entries outside the competition were accepted and eventually made their way to the two top positions.

Sorry guys but this is just a hot cup of fat with hair in it. The worst of the worst. You britta'd it Blues. Big time. Over 75 euros worth of prizes and 4 approximate entries? 2 of which were not even made for the contest specifically? Like I said, words cannot be expressed at the state of my sheer and utter "dissapoint"-ment.............

Well, did you expect anything different? Remember, this is coming from the same developers that took 2 MONTHS to fix an "accidental" patch with IEG. 2 MONTHS to change a couple of numbers in an .xml file. Any idiot with a basic knowledge of pre Battlefield 3 file modding could have done it in a second, and it took EAsy 2 months. When it comes down to that, what hope is there even for minute things, such as Australian face paints being put into the store, or a simple news post that says "check out this machinema contest, with more prizes than probably any contest ever hosted on these forums".
