Battlefield Heroes is really awesome, but none of the maps have buildings with rooms. It would be neat if a map was made with a focus on house to house combat, with buildings that had rooms and stairs inside going up to roofs. It would lend a new element to the game, having people able to snipe from windows, throw grenades through doorways. There could be main streets with jeeps and tanks, maybe even a pair of planes. AA guns could be on the roofs along with flags. We really don't have a map with this sort of style. Victory Village comes close, but it lacks the close quarters feel.

Note: I'm not suggesting alterations to the earlier maps, though that would be neat, I'm suggesting a new map style. There seems to have been a misconception in this regard.

I also agree, although it would be a bit annoying because commandoes could fill any given house up to gills with TTs and also wipe out small groups of 2-3 soldiers in close range rooms, and let's not even get started on what a gunner with 5 shield and an upgraded shotgun could do

Thanks for the replies, and the constructive criticism. I actually thought of the TT's, but most commandos don't level them up very high, so they wouldn't be much more than a nuiscance. Also, the limit keeps us from filling the houses up too much. As for the gunner, that class is simply overpowered, and it might get the DICE focused on balancing that problem out a little. Anyone who likes the idea, sign on so the designers notice this idea. If you have any map suggestions for this, add them too.

i think this would be a great idea but it would take longer to make the maps doing this.

Great point, it would take longer, but the rooms wouldn't need to be very detailed. Just walls, windows, and doorways.

It could work, but they would have to Resize every map. Unless you noticed, every house in the game isn't actually of the thickest kind. Not to mention throwing in a staircase into it as well would be impossible if you want to get up it. A ladder perhaps?

As I said they would have to resize every map, make the houses bigger. As they are now, they fit to a cartoon tale. Big people and small houses is what this game is made of. Unless you didn't notice yet, the doors are ALMOST smaller than the person itself!

It's a creative idea, but is it really worth the effort to change every map? Maybe just SOME houses should be unlocked and only a few not.

Good Point, Albino, although another bit of critisism is that vehicles driving down the main roads would be dead meat to infantry with explosives, its easy enough to infuriate other players into ditching their wheels in other urban environments, so a well timed simultaneous volley of explosives could easily cause the demise of a tank.

Well, it wouldn't have to be a vehicle map. Thats a great point, though. Maybe it could be like SS, with a central "city scape" but be round instead of rectangular in map shape. Mech, thats a valid point, but we're looking a a new map styled around this. But adding closed houses would help keep the map interesting.

Perhaps the most troublesome thing of all about rooms in BFH is it's a third person shooter
Entering rooms might actually block the view of the player.
If there was a FPS option for BFH yeah it could work.

Adding an FPS option to BFheroes...? I don't really know. It could work since you already have an FPS with the commando sniper rifle. Just zoom out entirely and add an animation of a weapon down in the corner. But then again FPS styles usually have a damage notifier, a shaking of the screen or something. If a gunner gets close with their cheeser, wouldn't that make it impossible to aim when the camera is shaking like crazy?

I like the idea. They would definitely have to make the rooms large to allow for the 3rd person view. Rooftop flags would be interesting too. They could put ladders horizontally between rooftops, or just use wood planks. Rooftops would be a vulnerable place to go, but important because of the flags. I'm picturing balconies, rooftop gardens, etc. The tower in VV is a great start. Jeep spawns could be in garages! Smile Tanks and planes probably wouldn't work. Just had a thought: The third person view hasn't stopped the level designers from putting some very narrow places in maps. Cliffs that come down right behind a building for example. Yes, this idea is good.

I would agree if it did not require DICE to remake every map since they were made with only the exteriors in mind.

Also, all of the buildings are miniature and so it would be extremely cramped for any interior fights.

Certainly a valid point, but what we are suggesting is a new map, not altering the old ones. The old ones are great as is. It just would be fun to have a new map to add some variety in playstyle.

A large city would be cool. With stairways to extend battles to 2nd+ floors! Sweet Idea,

That would be pretty awesome. I think the best way to allieviate the potenial Troop Trap spamming would be to put in a LOT of houses and multiple doors for them - then troop traps can't cover everything.
