An erro occurred: Failed to write registry value: Installation Dir

Hey all,

I've got a problem... when I try to install the game, this message shows up:
"An erro occurred: Failed to write registry value: Installation Dir"

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

in vista and 7: make sure you run your browser as admin: right click on browser icon >run as administrator

I have the same problem and i'm running Firefox as administrator but i'm still getting the error message

uninstall the browser addon (for a guide, click on "FAQ" in my signature, search term "unistall")
try again, running as admin of course

i some how missed the link the first time i checked the more user fixes link on ub2old's post. but the link that helped me was http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/forum/s...#pid499287
and the post in that section was from Buchenwald he said
The last option would be to do this:
1. If you're using any Windows OS later than XP, make sure you're running the browser as admin.
2. Click start > Run > type regedit > Click OK
3. Locate the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield Heroes
4. Delete the key and try to install the game.
and that is what fixed it for me hope it helps.

hit ctrl+F, copy/paste the line HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield Heroes in the search field.

after i get to software in the regedit, there is no Electronic arts folder, but i still get the message when trying to install?

that's the last possible method. Did you try the others already?

i tried running IE as administrator, i tried uninstalling via control panel(which worked), and i get the error in the attachment when try to install bfhas administrator in IE

Did you additionally uninstall the addon? It sometimes survives the normal uninstall.
