My internet is working perfectly...in wow, in other MP shooters, and surfing.
I'm lucky if I last more then 10 minutes in a game, and then suddenly the game freezes up, and says I lost my connection, and I get kicked to the launcher. Any idea what to do? This happens on nearly empty servers, as well as full ones btw. |

it says "There is a problem with your connection" in the middle of the screen ingame when it happens, when I get kicked back to the launcher, it says Connection to server was lost (3).

Here's how I fixed my connection to the server was lost (3) problem.
I am using a DSL connection with a router. 1. DO NOT use a static ip adress. Use the automatic IP-address and DNS-server finding or whatever it is called. I didn't get this to work with a static IP. (How to setup an automatic IP: Look here) 2. Here's the last and most important part. I explain what I did to my router: I had my LAN cable in the "slot 1" in my router, so I changed that cable's place to last "slot" in my router, which was number 4. So in your router/modem, change your LAN cable in to some other slot. I don't know if this is important but in my router settings uPNP is ENABLED. And yes, I know very well this guide sounds stupid and you might think:" How the heck can changing cable slot in my router to get Heroes to work." It worked for me. That's all I care.

I have updated PB as shown in that thread.
My router is using Automatic IP and DNS - finding. In DMZ Firewalls switched off ports forwarded Basically everything I could find. I still have the problem. Will try switching slots from 1 to 4 as you suggested, although I don't see how this could help. Thanks for the tip though ! Cheers. |

I have tried every fix for error (3) that has been listed in the troubleshooting forums now.
I have opened ports, turned on uPnP, DMZ (although not very happy about that one), installed the lastest punkbuster manually, installed other patches, tried multiple browsers, uninstalled browser plugins, I even sucked it up and stupidly out of desperation (because it's a stupid idea) changed the network cable to a different port on my router. I have an awesome internet connection and even better machine. Nothing I have tried has fixed the connection error (3)

If you are using Internet Explorer to launch from try using firefox as your browser, it made a big difference for me.
