Yup i get the same no 1002 error anymore just never ending match making. Cant even join friends....

Same problem for me.

I have tried for 3 days to connect and the game has never launched. I always get the same error message you described.

Enabling the DMZ doesn't solve anything.

I'll give 1 week to EA to fix that bug, then I will uninstall that software which is not even able to launch.

For non-Tekkies:
Doesnt work always, but sometimes:

Try (for firefox here but IE has sth similiar)
>Extras>AddOns choose the updater and deactivate it (NOT DEINSTALL please)
close the browser. open browser. Now activate the addon. close browser again.
Open browser, log in to battlefield. play now.

I hope it workes for you, but as I said, I'm not sure ...

i know there's a lot of people posting this, but I have that same issue too. I haven't been able to play for 2 months now because of that error. I made a new hero. i reinstalled everything. And still No BFH... i just wana play the game

hi Boddah000, same here and i tried everything (run as admin, tried to exclude it in my antivirus everything) it's something to do with punk buster. i had the same problem then i uninstall all the game component then ,when i tried to install it again , it wouldn't work. an error occurred fail to write the registry value, installation.dir....

i really think that we have been kicked by punkbuster as they probably think that we are cheat. there is a post about steeling sms or something and it explains that we have been caught steeling and we are kicked out of the game Maby hackers where able to take control of are accounts.

I never cheat and never used cheat and everything i do is legit I don't know any other reasons why, that's the only explanation that seems to be realistic. I am still waiting from even balence for a reapply.
