google fraps, the free version records 30 seconds of game play. Also other programs like hypercam give trials, so just google stuff.

Hey guise i have some compression issues.
I use sony vegas, and if I render it as .avi, its about 1GB and looks awesome.
With DivX , as .avi, it is about 88 MB and looks...low quality.
If I render it as .mp4, it's about 22mb...and i guess you know what it looks like.
I don't have and I never will use any apple-formats.

Anyone got an idea how to get my video BELOW 500MB and WITH acceptable quality?

hi, my video is 5 minutes and 45 secondes instead of the required 'less than 5 minutes'
but i feel i can't shorten it anymore without deleting even more important information, please let me know if this really is a problem, if it is, i'll try and shorten it a bit. thank you.

ps: i allready posted this in the main thread, sorry for any confusion

My video has a length of 8:57. Pretty long but I show really every option of the menu. There only has to be 1 movie of this to show people how to work with it. After they see this one they can go directly to the menu and start working with it without any problems.

O.o I hate using Avi. just change the mp4. template to 640x480(?) something like that

i wanted to do that as well, impossible in less than 5 mins buti'm afraid they won't accept a 9 min video if it has to be under 5...

Oh @ Pnoy: Use the H.264 Codec with .Mov (yes it is apple, but .mov is awesome) also, lower the bitrate to 5000Kbps to get the file lower. Also, export in 1024*720 for HD

Eh...thanks but...something tells me apple wants money from me when i use this codec, since
it's only included with Quicktime Pro?!
I can't really choose that codec in my Vegas or VirtualDub :/

Yes, if your NLE software doesnt have the quicktime codec then its no help.

Ok thx, the compression finally worked, but vimeo doesn't accept it.

The beginning is pixeled, but once i am allowed to upload it on a not-so-sh*tty
hosting site, that problem will be fixed. It's a vimeo only issue, so please comment ignoring
the starting difficulties

They don't have to be but the lowest we would prefer is 800 pixels, the absolute maximum is 1000 pixels.
