Here's a tutorial to get rid of Punkbuster (22) error when the official solution doesn't work.
This trick helps 95% of the players who have this trouble after trying the official solution.

I have 2 tips.

Tip 1: First tip is to download this punkbuster repair tool : http://www.evenbalance.com/downloads/pbsvc/pbsvc.exe and after running this tool with administrator privileges choose uninstall first and then re-install again.
Then press the test services button and then restart computer.

Tip 2 : Second tip is to allow punkbuster in your antivirus.
For some unknown reason it seems that some antivirus programs denies 2 punkbuster files to run after either Bfh game is updated or Punkbuster itself is updated.
If you tried tip 1 and it didn't work, then try the tutorial below...

First of all i have to tell that punkbuster does not currently support windows 8, so if you are using windows 8 the punkbuster won't work at all yet.
When windows 8 is out of beta and officially released the punkbuster will support it !

Requirements for this tutorial : Windows Xp, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

You have to exclude the 2 files PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe in your antivirus, because sometimes when either the game is updated or punkbuster is updated the antivirus might deny these 2 files to run and you will get a punkbuster (22) error popup in the game.
Below you can see where you find these 2 files on your harddrive.

If your windows is 32 bit you find the files here :

C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrA.exe
C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrB.exe

If your windows is 64 bit you find the files here :

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PnkBstrA.exe
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PnkBstrB.exe

Add these 2 files in the exclusion list to get rid of the Punkbuster (22) error.

--------------

Here are several examples on how to add these 2 files to the exclusion list of some Antivirus programs.
If your antivirus is not listed, then tell me and i will try to add it.

Norton Antivirus :
--------
Open Norton AntiVirus by right-clicking the program's icon in the system tray at the lower-right corner of your screen and clicking "Open Norton."
Click "Settings" to the right of "Computer."
Click "Configure" under "Exclusions."
Exclude a file or folder from the full-computer scan by clicking "Add" under "Scan Exclusions," browsing to a file or folder, clicking it and clicking "OK."
Add the 2 files above (Either 32 bit files if you are using 32 bit windows or the 64 bit files).
Exclude a file or folder from the automatic scan by clicking "Add" under "Auto-Protect Exclusions," browsing to a file or folder, clicking it and clicking "OK."
Add the 2 files above (Either 32 bit files if you are using 32 bit windows or the 64 bit files).

Above are just some examples on how to fix the Punkbuster (22) error.
If you have any other antivirus than described above, the try and do something similar like above.
All antivirus program have some sort of exlusions, you just have to find out where and then add the 2 PnkBstr files.

Good Luck ! Wink

Hope this is helpful to everyone that have tried fixing this problem without any luck ?

Ps: Pls don't close or lock this thread because i see everyday that the forum is full of people who needs help with this problem, and they have already tried the official tutorial.
This tutorial is not available in the official version !

Of course Wink
But instead of creating a new one there, maybe a Blue or Green can just move this topic to 1 of those instead ?

Thx for moving it to the right section, and thx for not closing it Smile
And yes, the official tips in your link is very helpful, but sometimes it doesn't work.
And if the official tips doesn't work, they can try my trick.
My trick has helped me several times, and others have pm'd me and thanking me for helping them by doing the trick above.
And this trick is not written in the official tips...

I have already said where you find the files in the top post, but here's where you find the files :

If your windows is 32 bit you find the files here :

C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrA.exe
C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrB.exe

If your windows is 64 bit you find the files here :

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PnkBstrA.exe
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PnkBstrB.exe

PS: Punkbuster does not currently support windows 8, so if you are using windows 8 the punkbuster won't work at all yet.

Then your punkbuster is not installed at all...

Try this :

Download and install punkbuster manually by following this download link : http://websec.evenbalance.com/downloader...php?file=1

After you have installed punkbuster with this setup then you have to add a game to use punkbuster on.
Choose Battlefield Heroes.
After you have choosen Battlefield heroes press check for updates button.
Let it download updates.
Quit punkbuster and Restart computer.

Let me know if it worked ?
