As the title states.

I just rented my server with Multiplay. And i got XTIANRCON to work. But was wondering how to set it up so it monitors the server 24/7 without having to leave my pc running all the time.

I was thinking in the direction of adding it to clanforge somehow. Implement it or upload it, i dont know how though.

Not possible. It needs to be running on any machine, doesn't matter if it's your private PC or any Server you have full access to.

Mehh.. ok then.. So all the 'big' servers out there just leave a pc running 24/7?

I can't do that, my pc makes to much noise and so i can't sleep. D:

*sadface*

Edit: Well you say it has to be running on ANY pc, so my multiplay server is running on a pc right? Can't i have Xtian run on that same machine? o_O

You're just renting a game server on a part of any, I assume, Windows Machine. You do not have access to the desktop nor to the actual game files. There is no way to run those two programs I'm afraid.

Most phones are connected to the internet 24/7 and an admin tool should (most tools are though) not be heavy on the CPU or the data traffic. I don't really know why people thought they would make yet another tool for the PC instead of one for another platform. I made one for my Nintendo DS because of the reason you mentioned: noisy PC.

If, however, the only functionality that you require to be online 24/7 is in-game admin commands, then that is possible with the ModManager plugin IGA. You can make in-game commands for just about anything that an admin tool can do. You can give one specific hero the abillity to use one specific command for changing to BB etc. It is a very flexible plugin. The 24/7 chat-spam and class-limits will require something external running though. I can help you with setting up the ModManager in-game commands if you rented your server at Multiplay.

Also it is kind of lame having to have a PC running considering that the current ModManager stuff that is allready running was made exactly for admins and developers to get the most out of their BF2 servers. Custom modules could easily be programmed, uploaded, installed and loaded back in the days of BF2.

Yeah i agree. An app for my galaxy s 2 would be super awesome. Ah well. I have some friends to help me keep Xtian online as much as possible.

I might send you a pm regarding those ingame commands if you don't mind.

Your server will be empty half of the day anyway. And trust me, sometimes its good for a server to run without all those kicking rules, limits etc. for a while.
