I have been playing BFH for a while now and I love playing with my soldier. The problem is that I feel as though you are forced to pay and get good weapons. I don't have money to buy funds and I don't trust Sponserpay. Now I believe that it is almost impossible to have a decent game because everyone else has payed to play. I know I can just use vp to get weapons but I use most of my vp for widgets on my gunners. So I will continue to play without paying because even if I do bad I will still enjoy the game. Just wondering though does anyone know if there is a server specifically made for just freeloaders because if there is I would be very thankful if someone would tell me about it.

There are no servers for only freeloaders around afaik. There is no way for an admin to set a server like that, since you are not allowed to lower the weapons like that on a ranked server. There is also no way to actually limit it with some kind of admin tool.

I'm sorry, but I think you have to stick to the normal servers together with players that payed for weapons.

Just try to finish as many missions as you can to get more VP to rent weapons.

Just get free stuff from the daily claw and hope you get something that last a long time or is unlimited. Doing the easy Sponserpay stuff like watch a video or downloading something you can just delete right after you get it is the way to go with that. Check Sponserpay for that daily.

Sponserpay does work and if you chose the right ones it can be trusted. I just fill in some random crap though ;p.

Quite frankly, no you can't play well without funds. The weapons like M16/Ak74 or the LR pistols are just way too good. You can't beat that with the default weapons. And I wish there were servers for freeloaders, but sadly, there are none that I know of. You are going to have to stick with servers with fund buyers like me. Tongue I would suggest try getting some funds through sponserpay and then hope to get a good DOTD.

Cheers mate Smile

I have to disagree here. The modern weapons like M16 and AK74 are just reskins of the uber/super weapons. That means, that these weapons only have a little more bullets per round and a slightly higher critical hit chance. It's no big deal to beat people with those weapons if you use the normal short range SMG, which you can rent with VP.

I tell you what, if you have 4 heroes, and a few hours ready to complete some missions for VP, then you can earn enough to rent a short range SMG for a day. Just complete the daily mission for 75 VP, and some other missions on the rest of your heroes.
I'd go with the soldier class if I were a defaulter (I am with my Nat soldier), as you have combat medicine which saves VP spent on bandages, and sixth sense, which is just fantastic when it comes to surprise attacks, giving you, and your teammates, the edge needed for victory. Rent the SR SMG, definitely pick the SR SMG, and you're pretty much set for close to medium range. Use the default shotgun as a backup if you need to, and at close range (If you're good enough with your aim, you can do more damage with this thing than with the SR SMG).
The best soldier loadout is (in my opinion), the SR SMG and the LR pistol. Unfortunately, there's no way you can afford that, unless you already have enough VP saved up like I do (9,000+).

Honestly, I just wish they made a "Classic" mode, in which everyone earns like twice as much VP and can rent all the weapons with VP. I dunno. Something like the original BFH.

back then last year there was battlefunds for free (600) which is 3600. and also a 300 bf (1800 ). I missed out on the 300 coz i wan on holidays. So if u missed out on both of them, i guess bad luck. and plus i made like 10000 on sponserpay.

Well I've been a freeloader for years but the only way that I can still play is because I got both the snipers and the MGL unlimited from the claw and I got some free funds from events which made me able to buy the uber knife and stolen long range pistol.
[I bought the stolen one so I can use 2x LR pistol whenever I feel like]
But now I'm thinking of buying some funds for an uber long range pistol cause it seems to be a lot better than the normal one [3 extra shots and 10% more critical hit chance]

It's really not that bad, maybe spending $10 or so to get yourself some decent weapons.

But if you insist on freeloading, your best bet is to do missions and save your VP to rent weapons. Then you can be like ElectrifiED :3

It's possible to get by with VP bought weapons. Sure, there will be those moments when a few extra bullets would have saved ya, but it's no big deal.

IMO, no. Soldiers need their SR SMGs, LRPs, and hand grenades. If you REALLY wanna cheapass, you only need about 10$ to get the normal SR SMG and LRP and hand grenade, then have a little left over for a shirt or pants. If you can't spare 10$, then freeloading off a game should be the least of your worries.

I used to be a freeloader for 2 years.

Yes, it is possible to play soldiers and gunners as a freeloader.

As mando, it's just a straight calvary however.

How were your stats during that freeloading period?

Yes.
I spent until recently.
"Christmas-ish" Time.

I was a defaulty soldier.
ALL THE TIME.

I scored decently high on the scoreboard because I didn't go for kills.
I went for support class style.
Heals, 6th Sense, Tactical Retreating, Blasting Vehicles to create blockades + deal nice damage.
I also did guerilla warfare. Stayed low, only attacked when sure I could get the kill.
I also dealt decent cover fire.

Trust me. Its fun.

Though I did use Dr.Pepper sets ^_^.
So. Yea.

Its also even EASIER with that claw around.
Wrenches. ( I love em. )

And you also usually get some weapon that is decent enough to use for a main for the day.

Just use shotgun for the close range. ( Improve your aim. )
And SMG for cover fire.

Also I reccommend looking up Funks soldier guides. They are old. But eternally useful.

It is very possible to play competitively without spending funds. My gunner and soldier both hit level 30 before I ever purchased funds. With the daily missions, I was able to afford one non-uber weapon. For my soldier, I played with the normal SR SMG and the default MR SMG. The key is to complete the daily mission everyday and only rent a weapon if you plan to play for more than an hour or so. Now with the claw, it is easy to stockpile health/wrench widgets, so you shouldn't need to purchase these. Besides, playing without these widgets will also force you to play smarter and ultimately better.

My stats while playing without funds were actually better than they are now. My gunner's KDR was near 2.0 when I hit level 30 and my soldier was over 2.0. My stats have actually deteriorated since I purchased funds. Not too ironic though...as I found myself trying harder when I was leveling up. Once my guys hit level 30, I focused more on having fun and caring less about stats.

Now for the disclaimers: my gunner was more than half way to 30 when the VP price increase went into place and my soldier was below level 12. However, ubers hadn't been introduced either...all guns were merely reskins of the defaults and the standard VP guns we have today. But, when I began focusing on my soldier, everyone was picking up the uber weapons, so I can relate. Good luck.
