Why are the Royals Losing?

Recent studies have shown that through the years, the Royals are losing more fights over time. How can this be when the Royals were at their peak a few years ago and winning most battles over the Nationals? After winning the battle over at the National's home base 3 years ago, it was discovered that they found the National's food supply base. This is when the Royal's worst horrors begun. Being in a strict diet to maintain full efficiency. It all went downhill once they spotted the local delicacies the Nationals had to offer.

'Just one taste..' said the Royal officer to his troops as he glared at the delicious pastries. Little did they know that this would doom them all.
Addiction began to spread and the legendary diets that kept them at top notch condition for the war.. were no more. Once there were no more food, Royals started to invade the Nationals for just their food. Hungry Royals invading National territory day after day after day. But the Nationals were not just silently watching the progress. They noticed that over time the Royals were running slower, were less concentrated. Still, they were not sure what to make of this information yet and decided to patiently wait for the answer.

The Ugly Truth

One year later the Nationals found out. The Royals were getting fatter and less effective in battle. They were simply not what they used to be. 'Now is our time to Strike!' said the Nationals. While the battles were still somewhat even, it was obvious that the Royals were winning less than what they used to.
Eventually, Royal scientists stopped worrying about the war entirely and begun its focus on food researching instead.
Two years later, the Royals scientists managed to discover the formula for food cloning.

At this point they just neglected the war entirely as they had no further purpose to try and invade the Nationals for their food. But the Nationals kept on rampaging forward...

The end is near

It was obvious that the war has been won by the Nationals. Barely able to move their bodies, the Royals just didn't care anymore. They just spent all day eating and eating. As time went by, another problem arose for the Royals. Their women were repulsed by what had become of their men and refused to breed with them.
'If they won't make an effort, then why should we?'

Yet the Royals were unaffected by their threats. Their mind had become poisoned by the pastries.
Life was good and ignorance was bliss.

Will the Royals rise again?

It is said that there is one Royal scientist that has yet to give up hope and has been trying to develop a perfect fighting monster. This was simply not possible before as it required the object to have inhuman amounts of bodyfat. The research indicates that it is trying to create a mutated breed combined with humans and alien DNA found in a meteor years ago.
'Just give me 20 years and we will win the war!' said the scientist.

But in twenty years, it could all possibly just be too late...
