You might have heard about the new Internet Explorer 9 which has a some nice enhancements for IE users. (the Internet Explorer Beta is available here)

One of these enhancements is the ability to create a Jump List for your own website (on Windows 7).
A Jump List is the list that comes up when you 'rightclick' on the icon on your Windows 7 Taskbar,
after you have pinned the website to your Windows 7 Taskbar.
Once the website is pinned to your Windows 7 Taskbar, it basicly works as if it is an application you have installed on your computer.

Together with this jumplist also comes the option to use a custom color for the forward/backward buttons in
IE9 and a large icon that shows up in the Windows 7 Taskbar.

Working example over here. Be sure to visit it with Internet Explorer 9 and pin it to your Windows 7 Taskbar.
This is only an example for testing, do not actually use it.

It really isn't that difficult to create, but it sure is very functional.

It also gives the added option to add the website to your Start Menu, where you can also find the tasks that are added in the Jump List.

Thanks alot... The download screw'd up my IE.. And now it says ''Internet Explorer has stoped working'' And when i click close program, It pops up again... Been this for 45 mintues.....

You'll need both Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9. If you have those you can check it out on the preview link I posted in the starting post. Do know though, IE9 is still in Beta.

For it to show up the owner of the specific website needs to create it.
Which is possible using META tags.

The preview I made is just an example of what's possible. The owner of the website can completely decide what's being showed to the visitor.
