[GUIDE]Fix to ALL Punkbuster Problems! Windows Xp only[UPDATED]

Yeah, you heard right! Whith this fix all your punkbuster frustration will be removed. Guarantied or money back!

DISCLAIMER: Althought this fix is harmless in itself, some individuals less practiced in computer use may cause harm to their own computer IF they don't follow these steps EXACTLY the way they are.

So here we go:

1. Check if your firewall has Punbuster A and B as exeptions
2. Download pbsvc.exe
3. Open the program and unisnstall punkbuster.
4. Press Start -> run. Type "regedit" without ""
5. Look for: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controlset001\Services" and find PnkBstrA, PnkBstrB and PnkBstrK. Delete those. If you can't find pnkBstrK, check Controlset002, 003, etc. If you can't find it, then it's fine
6. Look for: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Controlset003\Services" and find PnkBstrA, PnkBstrB og PnkBstrK. Delete those.
7. Open explorer: C:\windows\system32\drivers. Look for PnkBstrK.sys. Delete.
8. Open your BF:H directory(C:\Program Files\EA\Battlefield Heroes\pb folder and delete everything exept pbsvc_heroes.exe
9. Run pbsvc.exe again, but this time you install punkbuster.
10. Download Pbsetup. Downloads can be found here.
11. Press "add game". Find your game and "check for updates".
12. Restart your computer and you're good to go! No more pesky PB problems for you!

only the solution which works every time is :
reinstall windows > reinstall bfh > working
this worked for me

You got Windows xp? cus i dont have some of those files(I have Win7)

Are you sure you did exactly as described on each and every point? Because It should work(unless it's a ping issue)

XD this only destroyd it for me i removed them and now i get kicked .. need to re install bfh ^^ but no problem was even thinking of doing that soon

Yes, but you need to remove it AND install it from scratch. If you don't, you most certainly will be kicked

i can't find punkbusterk.sys (mean pbstrk or every thing else as you said on your message)

I havent found all of those PnkBstrK things from the register, plus i dont have Controlset003 that is required in part 6!
There is no PnkBstrK.sys in the drivers section of system32.

My pc IS a vista.

Hmm...I haven't spent much time with Windows Vista, but this fix was supposedly made to correct PB problems FOR Vista. Seems like that is not the case. I found this on a Norwegian BF forums, and it did wonders to my BFH(I got kicked after 1 minute of playing, but now I have never been kicked for games over one hour). Guess I must edit the title again

Ok, after weekend i tried playing Heroes again, but now this complains about PnkBstrKA.exe (or something like that) that it doesnt exist, and of course it doesnt exist because it was the only file related to punkbuster in registry, and i deleted it!

If you download the latest version of Punkbuster and install it, then reeboot, PnkBstK will be instlled again. The only thing this guide does is removing "bad" files which isn't updated/installed during punkbuster installation/modification. BUT when they are missing, they'll get installed from scratch.

And th only reason ppl have PB problems is that pnkbstrA, -B or -k has gone rogue

i've reinstalled, and un-installed this and i still get kicked less than minute after starting a game!!

Then you don't get kicked by punkbuster, but because of ping(and get the error message "You have been kicked from the server), no?
