PLEASE NO FLAMMING/SPAMMING/BEING MEAN. ~~KEEP THIS TOPIC CLEAN! Thank You. Smile

Let me start off this topic by saying this: How many points you get depends on how good you actually are, having a good sniping position, and no when to back away when sniping.

THE THREE BASIC RULES OF SNIPING

1) (this applies to the not-so-good snipers) NEVER point blank when near a gunner/soldier. As you WILL die, unless you quick enough to get him with your knife.

2) If your in a good position to kill make sure to keep an eye on your: Backside, other commando's can easily sneak up behind you and do one of the following: plant a troop trap, TNT (which can knock you out of your position), and knife the hell out of you.

3) BEST thing for snipers in SS(seaside skirmish), BB(Buccanear Bay), aim for enemy planes sniper bullets can easily hit the plane and you average about 20-40 points each hit.

4)Never stay in the same spot for a long time is a rather basic rule too, as enemies will get überpissed and will try to get to that spot as soon as they respawn to kill you. -Thanks to SamMontana

Place TNT on tanks, although this dont useally turn out to well because the person useally knows when it planted and you'll end up getting your head pumped full of lead.

**Use planes to get to positions but make sure your out of site of any other commando's.

**Use places easily accessible to you. A.K.A the church building on BB and te lighthouse on SS. although make sure you can get a soldier/gunner to come with you because the other team likes these spots aswell.

**Make sure you get the Elixer ability, this can be a easy escape from a fight you can't win (you know what i mean).

**If you don't see anyone near a flag make sure to put on your camo and find some cover this will easily give you about 400-600 points.

**with the right rifle plus the precise shot ability you can easily get headshots which give you about 20-30 points a hit (headshots take about 2 shot on the head and they useally fall.
___________________________________________________________
These are just some basic Instructions to get you started. I regularly follow some of these things and average about 2-3k points a game.

Happy Hunting!!

I haven't verified myself, but I hear this is incorrect. From what I've heard, a full capture of a flag results in 200 points, regardless. If there are more teammates around you, you get more points per "distribution" since the flag is now being captured quicker. You can count it for yourself. I haven't yet, but I don't doubt the source is right.

Lastly, while these are good tips for racking up points, these are poor tips for encouraging team play. Camping in good spots and taking the plane for transportation purposes does not help your team capture flags. If you can get kills, great, but I think there are more helpful ways to contribute to your team without sacrificing point accumulation.

Ok 400-600 is correct as some people (like me) get maybe 20-28 points every time points come up. Also, New players won't start worrying about teamwork until they get better because there team will start swearing at them.

Great advice, a good tactic is to hide on the church when the enemy is taking or holding roadblock. They usually notice you quickly though so take them out fast. Unless your teammates are pounding them with gunfire.

I ignore this rule on purpose, and then take out anyone who comes after me with my knife/pistol just to rub it in their face and cause it makes me feel badass. Big Grin

Pick your shots carefully when stealthed. Sometimes it's better to let someone pass in order to stay undetected. Position yourself in a hidden location and snipe them in the back.
A little patience can pay off. If you can find a sniping Commando near you, just sneak up on him and knife his back.

I recommend standing on one of your troop traps when capturing a flag. If an enemy commando tries to sneak up on you, the trap will launch you into the air and give you a chance to plan your escape.

Also, when I move to a new position I generally like to find one which covers the old position. More often than not, the last person you shot will be heading there looking for you, and you'll get the chance to shoot him again.

Capturing a flag = 200 points, no exceptions. 1 person = ~13 points/sec. 2 people = ~26 points/sec, ... but you take the flag in half the time. Points are still the same, you just get them faster. Even when there's 3 people and you're getting ~40points/sec, you take it 3x as fast.

Thanks for this. I really kinda suck at commando so this is helpful. Does anyone have any suggestions for which rifle to use? I've been using the slow / long range one and haven't tried the quick one. What do people think?

i really enjoy using the quick one aswell, when i cap a flag i usually throw down a troop trap wait till one person is trying to cap it and fire a few quick shots to the head to get rid of them

I usually pick on the enemy commandos and ignore the gunners and soldiers unless I'm supported by teamates, so I always use the slow rifle. You can use it to kill a commando in two quick shots - almost always faster than they can respond, especially if they're peering down their scope at the time.

-If you want to go on the church, dont stay there too long, always move after one or 2 kills, with the respawn system, they will come for you
-Try to maximize you stealth ability, at level 5 you get a huge bonus in cooldown.
-If you want to level up fast, go for a point, cap it half, and move to the other, you can have 4000 exp per round on VV.
-Try to always secure your position with a troop trap, if you get some points, an enemy is behind you.
-Take the heavies from a distance, they will give you more points
-If you play solo, take some bandages
