Resolving Lag Since Patch

Im sorry i've looked in every post so far about lag issues and havent heard one legitamte solution. No one's addressing the problems and just voicing their opinions. Its a simple question for a simple problem,

"Before this new update people could play BFH full detail with no issues, since patch we, well especially personally, can not play BFH beyond super low graphics and still lagging or quite choppy."

Again there was NEVER an issue pre-patch with graphics/gameplay, local or international server, but now I can't play BFH unless its on super low graphics and its still choppy and laggy if there too many people firing guns. Please do not respond to this with, check your connection, oh im surprised you didn't have an issue before patch, i don't care, it wasn't a problem then, it's a problem now since the patch, anyone with legitamite solutions to this issue please post.

Yeah its pretty sad, I'm done playing this game. I'm even a new player and already feel the pressure to keep the dollars flowing. I've seen four updates since joining, all which invloved "huge" changes in the game from uber weapons to to these last two. It's sad that the die hard will still play this game threw the lag issues, but the average middle man will not. This has been WAY too large of an issue to ever been released and considering such a large portion of the BFH community is affected it's hard to believe you couldnt have found this through beta versions and patch testing. Furthermore these latest patches have been the death of BFH. These new lag issues only opimize and glorify the basic exploitations of onine shooters. From spawn camping, blitzkreiging, spray and pray zones and gunner sprinters, these new updates and lag issues have only given these players another advantage with lack of manueverability, delayed responses to gernades and lack of TNT sticking to tanks while moving, no aircraft to counter any tanks and those who try can't see anything do to running graphics lower, ultimately this game was borderline destroying itself, not resolving issues but creating new programming and situations in hopes to divert the attention away from the problems. It seems this game has loaded way too much into graphics and personalization in recent patches and has drifted far from the needs for self-sustainability, but glorification of battlefunded accounts. I'm sorry but im done, and advise people from here on to quit as well, this game like no game ever, will backtrack it's patches and ultimately will patch itslef to death in the next few months.

Ive been having issues also. The game has been very choppy since this last update and frankly its getting a little old...I however like the game and hope that ea gets off their butt and does some real work to fix the issues...rather than glorify battlefunds...considering that battlefunds help keep the game going...maybe the programmers have been spending too much time eating the special brownies!!!! who knows!!! Case in point...fix the damn game guys plz!!!!

If you have played the game before and can´t get it to work or experience some strange graphic errors after the update please browse to...
My Documents\Battlefield Heroes\mods\bfheroes\ on your computer and delete all Files in the cache folder
This folder holds the hardware/shader profile generated by the game engine!
If you delete those files it will force the engine to generate a new/up-to-date profile on the next startup of the game.

If you still have problems to run the game please post your DXDiag.txt

Well, this happened to me after a patch in January and it hasn't disappeared. But what's even more annoying are the constant lockups/freezes after a few seconds into the game and the "You were disconnected from the server (3)" errors.

By now it feels like I have spent more time waiting for my computer to restart/restarting the client/loading new games over and over again than I have actually spent playing. A bit of a waste of time. I, however, don't want to completely abandon the game because it's still fun playing if(!) it works and besides I have paid some money for battlefunds. The biggest PR problem of the EA team from my point of view is that this issue can nowhere be found as a sticky post or something, so I cannot blame people bitching about how they are ignored. IMHO it seems to happen to a lot of players and it's just not dealt with properly. I believe that a lot of people would even help testing if that would help resolve it.

I can now confirm that -in my case- this is NO router issue. Not at all. Just out of despair I have installed BFH on my Dell laptop with a simple NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M graphics card and it works like a charm, though I need to play with medium detail level.

Hardly any lags/lag spikes and NO computer freezes or "disconnected from server (3)" errors whatsoever. Nothing.

I therefore blame it on my HIS Radeon HD 4670 IceQ-powered P4/2,53GHz, 1GB RAM, WinXP SP3 machine. I suspect the (newest) ATI display drivers to be incompatible with BFH aka the root of all evil. No wait, maybe the game programming rather is the problem here. Sad but true.

EA? Any comments?

Hey guys, I seriously think they cut down on their support for Quadro cards and probably a few others.

I used to be able to run everything on high settings, but now I'm in 800/600 and Super Low quality.

Let me know if you have a similar problem.

i can't find the cache folder, it's not on My Documents\Battlefield Heroes\mods\bfheroes\

Have you played the game before?
This folder is not created by the game engine until you load a map.
