That's right! As of today both Nationals and Royals can purchase "Supply Drops" from the hot deals page. Unfortunately it seems both factions have suffered at the hands of disorganisation, meaning the supply drops have been mislabelled or worse, sabotaged! This means the drops will give out random items equal or greater to the value of the supply drop purchased and with the possibility of being time limited or unlimited. Looks like HQ didn't check certain soldiers before enlisting them, otherwise disgruntled troops or enemy soldiers would have been smart to switch these drops with something of less value. So feeling lucky? Want to have the chance of obtaining an item of greater value within these drops and possibly end the war once and for all?

And who knows, more supply drops might be radioed in, sometime in the near future!

January 26th 2010...somewhere near...lunchtime, I only know that because my stomach rumbles...oh sorry, a narrator’s job is hungry work but in any case, somewhere near...Riverside Rush....

Standing atop of the mountain that overlooks the small trench-like town, Corporal Chester of the Royal Army scans and surveys the alleged rendezvous for their ‘pick-up’. Earlier intelligence claimed that National patrols were around the area, that they codenamed ‘Riverside Rush’. The greyish haired man ruffles his moustache in thought, mainly questioning the order that his superiors sent him and his men upon, not only was this in enemy territory but this ‘package’ was merely a lost rumour, possibly shot down by National Artillery and used as bait for an ambush.

His thoughts were correct, answered by his very own eyes as they angrily check out the flushed gear of the National Commanding Officer, no wonder he had evaded their capture for so long as was seemed to be a master of disguise with the ability to blend in with the dead and act like a motionless bag of bones with the skeleton outfit he wore. Chester’s mind was sent to a time where he and his men were sent on a mission to recover intelligence from a National crash site, the clever National acted as a skeleton of a paratrooper with his parachute stuck within a tree, once they had taken the bait, the trap was sprung and Chester was surrounded. A low growl of distaste is heard from the back of his throat as what happened next was something he wished to forget.

From behind, an impatient voice snaps Chester from his memories, the golden masks staring blankly, emotionless with the black eyes of the Rippin’ Rocket as they await some kind of command for action from their own C.O. ”Sir, what’s the plan?” The voice of Sgt.Lycosa asks, his previous exploit prospered well for him in the sense that he wants more action and more blood, though this time he was here as a bodyguard, a little strange to put a long distance sniper within a close quarter position but it seemed he was the only one to volunteer for the suicide mission or at least that was what the troops back at camp were calling it. Chester gives a heartfelt sigh, he needed to compose himself for the battle plan and swallow the anger until he meets face to face with the skull wearing demon that plagued his dreams. ”The plan...?”.

He looks at each and every mask within his command as he racked his brain for some kind of plan. ”Well, if we look at what we have, we have an enclosed town surrounded by what seem to be dried out river canals or trenches, on top and dotted around, we have two patrols of five Nationals with one C.O. nicknamed ‘ShadeShooter’. I think you can guess where the name comes from and that means the trenches are our best bet, though knowing the witty Nat, he will have them covered to force us to the top...hmm...I got it, leave your masks here and prop them up so it looks like they are looking over the mountain behind me. Once you are in the trenches, I will create a distraction and make it look like we are all up here. This will draw their attention and in hopes make them concentrate on us, of course Lycosa, you will stay and provide cover when someone spots the team, if I am correct, Shade will focus on me to the point that he wants me dead, however we have orders to not kill him, we must take him in alive for questioning.”

The squad nod in unison, taking off the masks to reveal their true identities, all except one. Once set-up and the team were in position, Chester dons his faithful Chopper, the same that the legendary Charlie fought with during the last accusation of the Nationals cheating within the Olympics. He takes one inhale of air before clambering to his feet, slowly crouching and taking a pot shot at the feet of Shadeshooter, the instant rat-ta-tat-tat of the bullets impacting into the stone below forced everyone’s eyes to the top of the mountain to see a proud veteran Royal standing tall with five golden masks peering over his shoulders. The Nationals draw their weapons, their aim all upon each mask and Chester while Shade claps with a sarcastic notion and mischievous grin before shouting up to the one that causes him a headache. ”Chester! My good man, it seems you have foiled my ambush, I must commend you on learning from your mistakes but do you really think I am stupid enough to not realise the five troops scuttling about like rats in my maze? Come now, I know you think more highly of me than that!” He laughs immensely, causing him to hold his stomach as he taunts the Corporal. Chester sneers at the retort as all eyes and weapons focus on the five sitting ducks that slowly raise their hands in surrender.

Without moving, Chester signals to Lycosa to start shooting, allowing their comrades to escape while the Nats return fire, however when he turns to look for Lycosa, he is nowhere to be found. Chester curses yet Shade carries on taunting at the success of his plan. ”Always plan an ambush with a counter ambush my friend, men fire at will on my command...actually make that fire at Royals on my command, I always feel sorry for Will when that command is used, so many ‘Wills’ die but I digress, KILL THEM!”

Several clicks are heard as the National guns are taken off safety, locked, loaded and ready to kill though meanwhile the M.I.A Lycosa is busy finding the random package that they were sent to collect, he grins as it seems the Nationals are smart enough for ambushes and counter ambushes but not able to find a crate attached to a parachute. Slowly he pries the wooden box open so he doesn’t alert anyone to his presence, upon opening he finds a note followed by a knife. He reads the note as he is very confused to his findings.

To the Royal C.O. situated at codename: Riverside Rush

We are afraid that your request for reinforcements based upon a hunch has been declined, however after rummaging through our stores at HQ. We have been able to bundle together supplies that can be dropped to you, unfortunately there has been a mix-up and we can’t guarantee what you will find in these drops, though please do find some use from them.

For King, for faction!

Royal HQ

Lycosa scratches his head with the tip of his knife, still in confusion yet he shrugs as he hears Chester attempting to by some time, the situation was dire and he had no time to dawdle. He eyes up the situation, five Royals ready to be executed like fish in a barrel yet Shade had no protection, no troops keeping an eye on their C.O’s back, a coy grin crosses Lycosa’s masked face as he creeps up on the unsuspecting C.O. and in one swift movement, the newly acquired knife was aimed at the neck of Shade. Shade blinks in astonishment but before he can speak, he is forced to listen to the cold tone of the masked Commando. ”Seems to be my day, was hoping for a rifle but hey my old blade is coated in too much Nat blood to be useful anymore, so let’s try this one shall we? Or would you prefer to see another scheming day and make your boys back down from my friends? Either way, you lost since I have the goods from the drop”

A now nervous Shade quickly signals to the Nats to lower their weapons as the Royals turn the tables and aim their weapons at them, Chester smirks with relief, jumping off the side of the mountain as he opens his parachute to glide down in a smug way.
”Wise choice ‘my friend’, wise indeed as Lycosa isn’t the type to take prisoners so I suppose you are in debt to me for that one. All you other Nat scum, beat it and report to your HQ that you stink at stopping us, oh and tell them that Shade is now with us, in protest of course, I would hate to diminish his reputation by saying he defected” Chester smirks in victory, making sure that every second is rubbed in just like salt into a wound, though Shade was still grinning with mischief, he hadn’t lost for the Nationals got the same supply drop yet once a schemer, always a schemer, who is to say that this wasn’t his plan all along?
