I once tried to use mark target to disable the "come out of stealth sound"
I know MT also has a sound effect when used (I don't hear it but that's because pc is rubbish) and I know it makes noise when you come out of stealth (I don't hear it because my pc is rubbish)
So what I did was use MT at the same second I start stabbing. I believe this makes my target hear the MT sound, but not the de-stealth sound. Not sure of it though.

Hmm it's been a long time since I didn't post in here so I have to add something. I'm actually making a vid concerning SR pistol vs. Uber knife, and after doing the maths, I found out that SR pistol > Uber knife in every range if you hit all your bullets with it. Since its accuracy is pretty good (some say it's bad but these guys didn't test the gun extensively), it might be better to get out of stealth with that SR pistol.

It's all up to you: kill faster but make a lot of noise or kill a tad slower without being noticed (the latter happens when you don't activate PB. If you're having PB, you're better off starting with the SR pistol to engage your victims).

Just to give you numbers, if you consider that the SR pistol is hitting for 15s at point blank and knife is hitting 70s (average values), DpS goes as follows:

SR pistol: 179 DpS
Knife: 114 DpS

That's all folks!

Btw, if you aren't happy with the contents of the box in my siggie concerning your guide, just upload a custom one of 150 x 125 pixels

But PB5 to engage an enemy, then circle around them while firing sr pistol would surely kill a gunner?

Yeah, but the problem is that with the SR pistol you have to hit all shots and you have to reload after 4/5 shots. I've tested the SR pistol, not for a long time but still, and when I attacked with it, I was dry in less than a second. So that's another thing you have to take into account. If you know you can hit them good, go for the pistol, but if you prefer not having to reload in close combat (like me) take the knife.

Definately true.

The point is that you can be a lot more deadly with SR pistol than with the knife if you know how to handle it correctly (I myself still have a lot to learn), but it isn't a reason to just give up on it and stick to LR pistol
