Because who really pays $5 for for a few hundred firebombs or for a month of sarge's stamina boost?
As of now, you rarely ever see long forgotten gameplay features such as the jetpacks used; primarily because no one wants to spend money on a limited item

Widgets like:

Pirate Kegs
Jetpack Jumps
Pocket Vehicles
Sucker Punches
Band-aids
The aforementioned firebombs and stamina boost
etc.

Do you think it would add more silliness (Seeing a commando jet pack over a house and punching him right back over) or lead to another "EA Failed" hysteria? (Gunners kegzooking with both pirate and standard kegs with 160hp)

Get a credit card, nice size bank account, bam unlimited widgets. Simple enough.

You could also do the same thing for clothing. (Buying them for 1 month only) But I have yet to know of anyone who does that.

Only to novelty widgets, I already see a lot of people who spam pirate kegs, bandages and the like. *cough*

Widgets are different, they will never sell consumables as perms. They wouldn't be consumable then. It's something that's been done in the MMO market for ages and will never change. Easy will not break the mold, trust me.

If it was possible to have unlimited widgets for 1 day, 7 days, 1 month then maybe...as in make the widgets time orientated like everything else but if every widget had an unlimited amount...sure it would be fun for a few days and would boost sales but only for a limited time.

Supply and demand, it drives every market, even the virtual one. I suppose you could keep discussing and ignore my /thread clause however.

Well it doesn't need a close, it's a good discussion. Also sadly your jedi mind tricks do not work on greens or blues I'm afraid Wink

lol "/thread" doesn't mean to close, more like an auto-sage. But, yeah I get it.

Demand is not affected solely by supply. It's also affected by value.

Widgets in their current price model is very low value. Which is why nobody buys them for bf, as far as I can tell.

Thinking you have a "/thread clause" just makes you look sanctimonious.

Well, I it would sure boost the sales as said above, but that would also stop very soon. Furthermore, it's like a pizza, when it's eaten up, there's nothing left and you have to buy a new one if you can eat more than one (unless you bought 2)

The difference between BFH and some other MMO's (*cough* Fiesta *cough*)
is, that in BFH, you can buy all clothes for keeps.

I just don't think it would be that fun to have permanent use widgets... ''use all the widgets you can for 1 day, 7 days or 1 month'' would be fine.

You'd be surprised, people buy a lot of widgets even if they just spam supply drops.

i would say the price would vary from widget to widget, depending how useful they are.

pirate kegs are pretty useful, but i have never killed a man with a firebomb or a throwing knife....

What would make it any different from SR-Smg sales? Those too, are typically only bought once, yet every player and his alt has one.

Widgets don't have to be consumables, they could be "extra tools."

Plenty of people buy them. I buy them, I have money to waste on them. However, a perceived low value in now way cancels out demand. First of all you don't have any figures to back your claim, except 'as far as I can tell'. Put simply, you can't afford to spam them so you want unlimited use widgets. Won't happen, you can discuss it until the sun comes up.

No, I'm the opposite of holy and have little morals.

If everyone had permanent widgets it would cause imbalance throughout all the classes. Widgets are sort of a wild card during a match. They can change the battle drastically. Ever play against someone spamming that wizard widget? You wouldn't stand a chance...

EDIT: However, since everyone has all the widgets (assuming they all spent money on the game*) it might be balanced. But then it would just be a widget spamming game, and that's not, at least in my opinion, what heroes is about.

* The game would become even MORE pay to win if they released permanent widgets.

Sanctimonious is a fancy word for snob.

My perceived low value comes from the fact I've played 3100 games and see widgets (other then band-aids and tonics) about as rarely as I see a gunner getting killed by a stolen dapper sr pistol.

Saying I only want them to spam is the same as complaining about someone buying uber weapons.

I'd like to see more people use the combat/utility widgets because of the repetitiveness and quick stagnation of 25+ gameplay.

Simply put, Longer refresh times and other rebalances to current and future widgets, just like weapons.

As for becoming more pay-to-win, that's exactly why I haven't said anything about a price point.
Not insanely high, but pretty pricey if you want more then one.

I use bandages, and tonics on every character I have...shamelessly.

I also use pirate kegs and pocket tanks, occasionally sucker punch. I used to LOVE the amassing force until they took it out of the store (tools).

I buy what I want/need. I like it this way and see no need for your suggestion, certainly NOT if it changes cool down times or raises prices. Next thing you know youll want these ridiculous "permanent widgets" in the claw too. No thanks.

(and get rid of the claw while we're at it)

That car/tank teleporter would be nice for unlimited and I'd like to pay for it. But things like pirate kegs and other explosives.. More widget spammers.. Also it would be nice if JUST basic boost comes unlimited.
^Dunno about the exp boost..
