Hello all.

After playing the game for a few months, I believe I am ready for this small but helpful guide. Enjoy.

1. How to be a Sniper

First off, being a commando is about being Stealthy at ALL times. If you are seen, you will most likely die. This is why it is important to have the knowledge on how to be stealthy, even whilst being un-cloaked.

2. Tricks of the trade

Optimally, you want to be cloaked at all times. this of course is impossible. As it is impossible to shoot or stab whilst being cloaked. And so when you finally do choose your target, you will be exposed to the elements, and to enemy eyes.

But, it is not impossible to stay hidden in plain sight.

First is how to pick your target. Your not some trigger happy soldier or sloppy Gunner. Your a precise machine. When picking your target you should be aware of your surroundings and know when a good time to shoot is. The basic steps are: Position, Distance, Camouflage, Enemy threats, and Relocating.

Position: Where is your target? Is he next to something he can quickly duck behind? Is he facing you or facing away? Is he already concentrated on another target?

When you see a target, Optimally you will want him to be out in the open, facing away from you, Giving all his attention to another person. If he is near a building or tree, he can quickly hide behind it when you start shooting. If he hes shooting at another person, he will have to choose between 2 targets if you choose to shoot him. Making his reaction time slow.

Distance: How far is the target? is he far away enough that it would render his gun useless against you? or is he close enough to be able to grenade spam you?

Distance to target plays a vital role. For any sniper rifle the farther you are from the target the more damage you do. So optimally you'll want to be as far away from the target as possible.

Camouflage: Possibly the most important skill there is to learn. And its a tricky one.

Before you shoot at someone you want to make sure that the background somewhat matches the color of clothes your wearing. For example if your going to hide around some gray rocks or cliff, you want gray or dark brown clothing. I've found that the Camouflage clothing on both sides are very effective. But they tend to work better in the shadows. The most IMPORTANT thing about staying hidden with Camouflage is to NOT MOVE. Movement draws the human eye in any form. If you stay perfectly still you become part of the background. But if you must move, Walk slowly!

Enemy Threats: The most dangerous thing you can do is jump up on a hill and start shooting wildly at people. You always have to remember, there are OTHER snipers out there looking for people that throw caution to the wind.

BEFORE you engage the target your looking at, Scan the area around you. Look at the high places like towers and hills. If you don't see anyone, engage the enemy. But that's not to say there's one staying hidden.

Relocating: If you stay in the same spot for too long, it will only be a matter of time before someone tracks you down. The most important rule of sniping to relocate after every 2-3 kills. But, before you start shooting, its a good idea to scope out where your going to relocate to so you wont have to find a spot on the run.

Lastly I want to get into accuracy. Are you a good shot? an average shot? or an amazing shot?

If your an amazing shot, Always try and go for the head. If your a good shot, attemp a headshot if the target is not moving. Body shots if he is. If your an average\below average shot, Always go for the torso unless you SURE you can get a headshot.

Ok that about wraps it up. Thanks for reading my guide!

Happy Sniping! and don't get shot! Cool

(Special thanks to Badoot for reminding me to add the Relocating section! Thanks dude!)

A Sniper's job is to assist the infantry by Picking off the most threatening Target.

Its funny because in WWII Snipers were looked at as the scum of the army, even by their own people! Except in the Russian army, where they were praised as heroes.

When I snipe I always try to help my comrades first before getting an easy kill.

not exactly u can shoot those enemies whose your teammates cant see .. or just support them from safe distance, and u can noticed that snipers almost never lead the leaderboards in one round... i think.bye

New commandos should read this. Also I might add commando also do some teamwork, you cover the soldier and gunners, create distance and picking off loners, also mark target take off commando's cloak so the group of soldiers on your team can swarm over the tiny weak commando. You get two points every time the commando gets hit, AWSOME.

You will have to make a distinction between a 'knifing commando', who has to be stealthed to be effective and a 'sniper', who can or can not use stealth. You shouldn't put so much emphasis on the 'being in stealth', because it's not all that necessary. For the rest you have made a nice guide. I guess I can't use any camouflage because of my blue shirt (unless I go swimming lol Tongue)

I disagree, to be an effective commando whether it be Knifer or Sniper. You always want to be cloaked.

If the enemy can't see you they can't kill you.

Pretty sure of yourself to entitle this THE guide on how to be a sniper =P j/k

All good tips except the camo one... you're never really camoflauged, especially since you can't see what your clothes look like to the enemy in contrast to your surroundings, so I think you should never stand still unless your cover is very small and you have no choice. Instead, make sure you have FULL cover close that you can hide behind if you get spotted... Even when you jump behind that cover, try not to sit still and scan the area that you are exposed to. Snipers are scanning the battlefield from all angles, so at least make the shot a little tougher. When you place yourself close to good cover you can setup your shots without being stealthed so that you can pop into stealth AFTER you've emptied your clip and relocate... always relocate

Oh man! I completely forgot about relocating!

Probably the most important thing of all.

Thanks for reminding me, I shall add it to my post.

I thought it would be good if anyone who wants to be a commando see this video.

It shows the importance of Camouflage and not moving.

Sniper School - Camouflage

(I realize this is a game and you will not be able to be perfectly camouflaged like in this video. This is only to demonstrate how effective camouflage can be when used properly.)
