Since there doesn't seem to be a complete FAQ covering everything, I decided to make one for those who have trouble using the search function. Note that most FAQ-topics are located in the 'newcomers' section.

I will try to include all the questions that are frequently asked, and update the posts. If there are any questions that you think should be in this FAQ, please let me know.

How do I start the game?
In the left upper corner of the website, there is a PLAY NOW button, click on it to download/update/start your game.

How do I create a hero?
In the right upper corner of the website, there is Create a hero button, click on it to create your hero.

How many heroes can I create?
You get 4 FREE hero slots. You can have up to 10 heroes in total. To get more heroes you need to buy slots for 140 Battlefunds each.

How do I delete my hero?
There is currently no option to delete a hero. Thus it is not possible to delete one.

Can I give my hero a different name?
Yes you can, for 990 Battlefunds you can change ONE hero’s name. Click here to do so.
The link is located at your player profile, in the same bar as your player name.

How do I play with my friends?
In order to play with your friends, you need to add them first. There are several ways to add them:
1. If your friend has posted in the forums, click on the little icon next to his/her name in the post.

2. Go to Player Search, listed under “Community” in the navigation bar on top, search for the player’s or hero’s name. Next to the player’s name, there is a little icon like mentioned above, click on it to send a request.
3. Found a player while in game and want to add him? Press TAB to bring up the scoreboard and double click on his/her name.

Now it’s not done yet, this is only HALF the process. All you've done is send a request, the other person has to accept the request before you can become friends. How is this done?
Go to your Friends list, located on top of the website.

People who requested to be your friend are located under “fans”. Click on the little icon next to their name to accept their request.
Now you can find each other in the game menu under ‘friends’.

How to get into specific servers
There is a option to bookmark servers, so you can join it any time you want (as long as it's not full). To do so, there are 2 ways:
1. If you are playing on a server you like, hold TAB and press F5.
2. If you found a server you like to join on the forums or auto admin. There are specific links that allow you to bookmark them outside the game. Links to bookmark servers look like this: http://www.battlefieldheroes.com/en/bookmark/server:"...code..."

You can find your bookmarked servers in the game menu, under 'Options' -> 'connect to server'

What is in the supply drop?

Where are my screenshots?
Normally screenshots that you've taken are located in your Battlefield Heroes folder in your documents.

How do I earn Hero points?/How do I increase abilities?
Hero points are used to increase abilities. They are earned by leveling up. You start with 1 HP, this is already put in your main ability and cannot be changed.
Every time you gain an even level (2, 4, 6, etc.), you gain 1 additional Hero Point.

How do I earn Valor points?
Valor points are used to buy items in the store, valor points are free and do not have to be bought with real money.
Valor points are earned by leveling up, finishing missions and simply playing matches.

How do I change my abilities?
You can change your abilities by adding hero points to them. You can reset your abilities and get your hero points back in order to put them in other abilities. In the abilities game menu, there is a small refresh button to reset your abilities.

How do I turn off the in game chat?
There is currently no option to turn of the in game chat.

How do I report a hacker?
It's terrible if you found a hacker, read here how to fight them!

What is PTE?
PTE stands for, Public Test Enviroment and can be found here.
It's a place where things get tested before they get into the 'real' thing. In order to try it out, you need to create a new account for PTE only. Discussions about PTE should stay there on not posted on this forum.

I can't redeem the Dr.Pepper code on BFH!
Currently the Dr.Pepper redeem function has been deactivated until further notice. Keep your eye on the Alerts.

I hear people saying only 1 Dr.Pepper code per account?
There is a number of 'special' codes, these are listed on banners and are non-unique. Which means anyone can use them. These are the codes that you may only use once. These codes are not found on bottle caps.
The codes you find on bottle caps may be used any time and can only be used by one person.

(each code can be used only once)

Gunclub offer

How do I get my free 700 BFs from Gunclub?
Right now the offer is unavailable, which means you can not redeem the free battlefunds.
Be sure to subscribe to their newsletter to participate in their future offers. Visit http://gunclub.ea.com/us, and log in with your EA account.

What are the forum codes?
The forum uses MyCode, some codes can be found here
Note that some don't work. If you want to change text size, the numbers won't work. If you want to change text size, use the following:

How do I get a signature?
The forum has it’s own generated signatures, which can be found on your hero’s page, below ‘abilities’ and ‘groups’.
Other than that, you can visit one of the signature shops in Signature Central.

Not getting your verification email?
If you just signed up or changed your email address and didn't get the email you were promised, then you probably ran into a bug we are currently experiencing on the site.

There is a very easy solution though. Just follow these three steps:
1. Go HERE
2. Sign in
3. Click resend activation

If that doesn't work you can always try this method.

How do I change my e-mail?
Under ‘My stuff’ in the navigation bar, you can find Update my account, here you can change your e-mail, password AND subscribe to their newsletters.

How do I change my country?
To change your EA account details, go here.

Problems with Battlefunds
If you are experiencing problems with buying battlfefunds, it’s best to contact Billing support. There is little the forum community can do to help you.

I bought Battlefunds with SMS and haven’t received it yet!
It might take a while for Battlefunds to be transferred to your account when buying with SMS. Wait 2 or 3 days before you panic.

First time funding bonus?
If you registered less than 7 days, and you buy battlefunds, you'll get a 25% bonus!

Which countries support SMS payment?
Not all countries support SMS payment, if the paymo option does not appear in the "buy battlefunds" menu. Your country probably doesn't support it.

Error 1000, 1001, 1002, 1009, 6 and 3014 shortly after a game update or maintenance
Go to your “…”\Documents\Battlefield Heroes\mods\bfheroes\cache folder, and delete all the sub folders within.

Game doesn't start
Make sure you are running the browser as administrator. (when opening the browser, right click, 'run as administrator')

Another instance running
Bring up Taskmanager (CTRL + Shift + ESC), look for BFHUpdater.exe and/or BFHeroes.exe under ‘Processes’ and end them. Restart the game.

How do I remove BFH?
Go to your control panel, open ‘features and programs’, select BFH and choose remove.

Does the game have wide screen support?
No, when playing the game with a wide screen, you'll have to get used to the fact that it will be stretched out. Some graphic card drivers, like NVIDIA, have an option to scale with a fixed-aspect ratio. This will not stretch out the graphics and put black sidebars on the left and right side of the screen.

What are the system requirements to play BFH?
Operating system: Windows XP or Windows Vista, Windows 7
CPU: Intel Pentium 4/AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz
RAM: 512 MB (1Gb on Windows Vista)
Video Card: 64MB DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. (AGP and PCIe only)
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Hard Drive space: 1Gb of space is required to install the game
Internet connection: 256kbit Cable/DSL connection
Monitor with a refresh rate set at 60Hz or higher
