Possible solution to some connection issues - Goodman - 20-04-2009 02:30 PM If you manage to get in-game but tend to get kicked regularly, try one of these and please let us know if it worked for you: 1. In the settings for your router, enable UPnP (Universal PNP), it tends to unblock certain patchways without creating security issues. 2. This one is more for testing and WILL likely make your computer more vulnerable. Only try this if you know what you're doing: Put your computer in the DMZ. (Please check online, Google and/or your router manual for doing this). This likely opens up a lot of your ports and whatnot, but it might let you pinpoint where your connection issues are coming from. Please only reply here if one of these worked for you and let others know about your experience OR if you know a better solution than what I've posted RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Malvarlo - 20-04-2009 08:51 PM Would it not be easier to let us know what ports BFH uses so that we can unblock those (if any are blocked) instead of making our PCs vulnerable to attack? Personally, my router has UPnP enabled and I still experience the disconnects, I'd be VERY hesitant about putting my computer in the DMZ. But after puting my computer in DMZ eerything was working ok. My router is Pentagram Cerberus P-6331-6. RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - gaga11 - 20-04-2009 09:51 PM im behind 2 routers. i always had disconnect after 1 game or less, few days ago i tested it without the routers (modem directly connected to my pc) and i played more than 3 games in a row without dcs. i just tested it with dmz, and i played 3 games in a row now... so its pretty much a port i gotta open.. but tell me which one?
RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Malvarlo - 21-04-2009 01:08 AM Unblocked the TPC/UDP ports for BFH earlier, didn't really want to touch port 80 or 443, that loosens the security on my router uncomfortably low. I'm still getting the disconnects. It's a shame that so far the only options available are also the options that make your computer / network vulnerable. RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - gaga11 - 21-04-2009 10:16 PM bump.... RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Marcquez - 22-04-2009 12:19 AM still got regular dc as well

Can't you open ports for specific applications only? I'm using the router given me by SKY, it's a Netgear router, with the latest firmware on it, I believe. RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - AdamsS123 - 22-04-2009 08:16 PM shoot, i have an pentagram cerberus 6331-6 router too, but i unlocked these ports, enabled dmz, and i still have a disconnets... help ! xD RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - gaga11 - 22-04-2009 11:30 PM (22-04-2009 05:54 PM)Malvarlo Wrote: The ports are: i opened those ports but still got dc after 1 round with dmz i played more than 3 in a row... so that arent the ones we need here
RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Malvarlo - 23-04-2009 12:08 AM They are the ports listed in the readme in the root of the heroes folder and are also the ports listed on this forum. I've been playing fine today (touch wood) I've yet to encounter a disconnect, I still haven't unblocked 80 and 443, just the UDP/TCP ports. Edit: Spoke too soon. (Although the disconnects aren't as frequent now)
RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - midnit3 - 23-04-2009 03:02 AM I dont have a router or anything, just straight from wall into the pc (fios), still get plenty of dc's all the time, once every game I play. And it lags like hell upon death and showing the image/motion of the guy that killed you. ![]() I'm 100% sure its not my pc's fault anyway. RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Fleder - 23-04-2009 02:06 PM all done, all ports are forwarded and opened but still got "connection kicks" regularly RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - StrongFat - 23-04-2009 02:24 PM I dont have a router too, and I have same "kickproblem", just hope they fix it. RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Cristari - 23-04-2009 07:26 PM I hoped to find a solution to the disconnections here but I have already done both of these suggestions and still have disconnections. I don't understand why you only want to hear from people that it has worked with if it doesn't work surely you would want to here that also! RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - StickDude101 - 23-04-2009 08:15 PM If you have connection issues, you need to make sure that your firewall is allowing Battlefield Heroes to connect to the internet. Check your firewall logs to see if it blocked Internet access from Battlefield Heroes. If this doesn't work than just disable your firewall before playing. Follow K4Ge's thread on the ports and IP address of Battlefield Heroes: http://play.battlefield-heroes.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4567 Thanks, ~StickDude101 RE: Possible solution to some connection issues - Punkrock - 23-04-2009 10:50 PM hey guys i fixed my error probelm (1002) wen i run it i just turned of my firewall |
