Hello,

To start off with, I can run BFH almost perfect. Before it was really laggy, very hard to play.

The only problem I get now is 5 sec lag spikes which happen not too often, and connection to the server was lost which I also get for playing the game for too long (not as often as well). I sometimes get PB kicks, but it only happened once or twice so far. Also lag only comes a bit at the beginning of the game. ( It stops afterwards )

I set everything as low as it can possibly go(Resolution 800x600 Default). I put No for Allow telemetry. Before I start the game, I open up task bar and end unwanted processes running that take out Mem Usage (Becareful of what you end).

Any inactive icons, I dont use that I close them out if i can (Bottom right corner of your screen). I close out everything(Such as your browser), after the updater pops up.

I hope what I did could have helped you in some way. But Be careful I don't want to be held responsible for the bad things that you may have caused as a mistake.

Optional:

Increase the Performance of your PC

I changed the settings for my Nvida and put only performance. And also for my computer settings. So it looks somewhat old, but works well.

Sorry for the results on speedtest. Currently updating Battleforge and my family is streaming.

Hope it works out. Dont want any trouble caused by what I did

EDIT: Finally got it back up
how!?!?!Exclamation
Tasty,
I usually write all my stuff in notepad, then copy and paste when I'm ready. The forums are buggy, and they're working on that. But if it fails, then you haven't lost the original work if composed elsewhere. Smile

The telemetry is used to relay your stats to the leader board.
Keep that in mind when choosing to turn that off.
I've heard that it has help some, but having had some of these issues you report, turning it off did not make any difference.

The key to lag is bandwidth and connectivity to the server.
Also, your video card barely makes it into the specifications. I had that card a few months ago, and I know it's performance. It worked great on low and super low. But I upgraded to a new AGP HD card and now can play at 1900x1200 on full high res ... I can tell you that the card change had nothing to do with the lag, as I was having it with the 5200 before the change.

I add the pbcl.cfg file, I permitted punkbuster and battlefield heroes exclusions in my antivirus and firewall, I play with my firewall in game mode. I virtually have no more lag … There is the occasional lag, but that’s because I hooked into an Aussie or Euro server.

Before I play, I turn off my extended screen, close all internet accessing apps, and sometimes I boot the system in a reduced services mode. Google - blackviper xp service pack 3 - Smile

Just some additional thoughts for you ...

Hahah I did put it in the notepad ;D Luckily . I had to switch browsers(Firefox ---> Opera) which did well. When I put quick edit then it erased half of it. So I did a full edit, copy pasted it again. It took many tries.
Thanks Cyblos ;D. Gave me somewhat an idea to help my computer out more.
I imagine that not all lag issues are a personal fault. Sometimes, one really slow connection can drag down everyone else on the server. Common problem in 2142 and other games maybe.
