Uh..yeah sure. You could do that. Wait...whut? Haha, I'm sorry i don't get what you mean by scaling. Please explain.
EDIT ALERT: I just thought of what you might mean! I think you are talking about the clipping mask thing? If so YES you are safe! All you need to do otherwise is just use the paint-bucket-fill-tool-thingy and use the pattern as the color. In my uhm...hmm "crappy" Photoshop Elements 8 there is a little check box next to the color palette that says patterns. You check that and load the pattern. Hope this helps!
BTW your sigs,etc are AWESOME!

Resize the width to 1000, that shouldn't scale it down to much

EDIT: Found out problem... I HAD the thing at 1000 pixels wide BUT tinypic.com scaled it down for me Switched to Imageshack.com

Anyone at all...hello!

It became pretty blurry and didn't get the orange tones too well, but otherwise I think I did good. Thanks for the tutorial!

Oh and outerglow became way too big.

Very good!

Some tips: Try and work at a very large scale. Like make your picture 500px X 500px this allows it to be sharper when you scale it sown to fit what ever you are doing. As for the "orange tones try adding an inner glow of red.
