[Tutorial] How to post a screenshot on the forum

Welcome heroes!

In this thread I will be telling you how to take a screenshot in-game, upload it to the internet and post it on these forums for everyone to see.

The first thing you need is to pop into the game by pressing play now on the website then join a server. Get to the desired location or position and press a special key on your keyboard. This key is called the printscreen key. Not sure what or where? Well lets explain it. Pressing this special button will tell your computer and the game to take an image of your screen. Normally it is located in the upper right hand corner of your keyboard as shown below.

Now you have pressed that you should have seen your BFH game window freeze for a second or 2. This is telling you that it has taken a printscreen of what is shown and is saving it. Close the game. You're all done ingame. Now to locate it and upload. Since you pressed printscreen it has been saved in a nice and simple location.

Windows 7 and Windows Vista
The image should have been saved here:

C:\Users\*Your username*\Documents\Battlefield Heroes\Screenshots

So to go there press your windows icon, then click on Documents.

Go to Battlefield Heroes and then Screenshots. In this folder is every screenshot you have taken. So if you take multiple then you'll see lots there.

Windows 8
On Windows 8 it's in the same location but the method of getting there is a bit different.

Go to your Windows 8 Live Tile Page. Formerly known as the Metro UI. Move your mouse to the right hand side then click search. Type in computer and select the app which is found.

Then it'll open up the file browser. Navigate to 'C:\Users\*Your username*\Documents\Battlefield Heroes\Screenshots'. In this folder is every screenshot you have taken. So if you take multiple then you'll see lots there.

You may notice there are 2 of each image. This is since there are 2 image formats in use. This is PNG and JPEG. The PNG one has a larger file size but will look better since it is high quality. Where as the JPEG has a smaller file size but looks a little bit worse since it is lower quality than the PNG.

At this point you can edit it by opening it with a choice of image editing program you would like. so this could be Paint, Paint.Net, Gimp, Photoshop or any other editing program you may have.

Now to upload it to the forums or an image hosting website! For this you have a choice. You can upload it to a site such as Imageshack, Tinypic or PhotoBucket. These can be used by signing up to then going to the homepage and clicking browse. Locate the screenshot on your computer. If you edited it with an image editing program then you will have needed to save it as an appropriate file format and somewhere on your computer where you know. Then select the file and upload it. Some of the sites provide a a forum img embeded code for you. This will be perfect for you to use and post where you need to. If there isn't then copy the direct image url and post it in the image tags.

If you don't want to sign up to a site and simply want to upload it to these forums. To do this go to the bottom of the thread you want to post in and click new reply.

Click 'Browse' and locate the screenshot. This will be where we found it earlier or where you saved it when you edited it in a editing program. Click 'Select' then select 'Add Attachment'. This will reload the page and it'll be uploaded. Click 'Insert Into Post'. Press 'Preview post'. It'll look something like this.

Click on the red/brown text. It'll open a new tab on your browser. Right click and copy the URL of it.

Go back to other other tab where you are previewing your post. Type [IMG] [/IMG]. In the centre paste the URL of your image. To do this right click in the centre and select 'Paste'. It should then look like this.
