Why can we not change weapons in game?

That feature sounds awesome and all, but it sounds seemingly half-assed. Why not go the whole way and implement the ability to change your hero, inventory, widgets etc. at the beginning of a round like most games?

Would be pretty awesome anyway. Equip my DF when in infantry maps, and equip my Tank buster when playing "vehicle maps" "tank noobs heaven" maps.
