The weapons are NOT OP'd, it's PS that is the problem. Fix/break PS and snipers will suddenly no longer seem OP'd.

And there are lots of ideas out there on what to do about PS:
1 - Only 1 shot per PS activation (previously mentioned in this thread).
2 - Change to vamperic effect like FF. The shots don't do any more damage, but heal the mando instead.
3 - Change PS from set damage amount to a % of life of target left
4 - Remove PS in favor of a skill that stop the scope from swaying (simulating holding breath) - my personal favorite
5 - PS allows rifle to damage tanks, not increase damage to infantry.
6 - Just do away with it entirely and replace it with nothing since mandos already have one more ability to choose from.

Drew's suggestion for making PS provide heals per shot doesn't mean that the sniper stops doing damage all together while the skill is active lul.

Tips on currently playing soldier(for below average players):
Hide in tank to avoid snipers.
Run away from gunners and always blast.
Pistol pistol pistol burn burn burn(do in a safe spot where u can take cover, you lose against rifle).
stay in team, you might not have the advantage but sticking with teammates will give extra strength.
Camp with mando to decrease ps5 headshots.
buy a bunch of tonics

^ these steps will match you to a below average player gunner/mando or to an average soldier(ha).

I never said they were good suggestion. Nor did I say any of them are mine, there are just all different suggestions I've seen thrown around about what to do about PS.


All I know for sure is that PS+Fast Rifle is insane, but without PS the fast rifle is nearly useless. So, while any major changes to PS will help greatly with the "OMG Snipers are so OP" whine, there will be a huge amount of "OMG My Fast Rifle is USELESS!!! I want my monies back!!! EA SUX!!!" cries as people find that their noobcannon is no longer the deadliest weapon in the game.

Indeed. This could probably be countered by increasing the base damage of the fast sniper by say.....10-12 damage per shot?

To author. Classes are made to not be balanced. Thats why therer are classes! Mandos for long range and for explosions, gunner for short and soldier for long, mid. Soldier are not useless in short range too. It only depends on your skills. IF YOU THINK THAT CLASSES ARE UNBALANCED, YOU DONT HAVY ANY SKILL OR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT GAME DYNAMICS.

I find that the fast / low recoil sniper rifles are indeed the problem, not PS. Those rifles are ESPECIALLY a problem when every freeloader in the game gets one of out of the claw.

I say nerf the fast sniper rifles, not PS. Remove them from the claw as well.

I also find gunners to be OP. Get rid of the FF heal and the slow on kegs would be my suggestions.

Soldiers are actually the perfectly balanced class imo, they always have been.

Soldiers are NOT useless, we are useless against gunners. But that's perfectly normal BECAUSE, gunners were made for a short range fight! Why does nobody understands that? And tell me, weren't you so thankful that that soldier showed up, healed you and helped you kill the guy? About snipers... Hide, wait, shoot!
