hmm let me put another version of same idea

Final Fortress -

It create small force field infront of Gunner , absorbing 50% of damage ( he will not be invulnerable , you can still kill him even behind that force field ) ,and reflecting BB / PS (only the PS/BB bonus dmg ) , but it doesnt reflect or absorb explosive dmg ( including rockets ) .
Also it can share same reuse time with IEG , so you must use it depending of situation .
Also it may prevent players by walking inside it .
Also causing guner to duck down and not be able to move till end of skill use .

This can be very ussefull for small infantry maps , to defend a spot easily when taking a flag or something , by blocking one way to enter and concentrating all forces on the other exit .

also this compleatley eliminate FF ,

Well, no it doesn't eliminate the need for FF. FF heals you by shooting and also increases your accuracy and hits, none of which I can see in your ability.
I like your idea, but it slightly resembles the hero shield, don't you think? It's kind of a mix between IEG and Hero Shield, your idea.
I'd like to see a shotgun damage enhancing ability on gunners, and a pistol damage enhancing ability on soldiers.

FF = no need for teamplay you heal yourself

My idea = teamwork, need of healer behind you to keep heal you while you block the incoming fire by 50% .

and since Devs wants to change the guner to even more teamplay user i guess this idea can be reworked to something good Smile

Well, it's a pretty good idea, but even though I don't use the FF ability (and even discourage using it) it wouldn't be a good idea to remove it.

^The main reason it wouldn't be a good idea to completely trash it is because a lot of people use it... so a lot of people will complain if it gets the axe.

And although adding abilities to shotgun and pistol would be nice, commandos and gunners should also get the abilities too b/c they can also use them.

Earlier you said the person using FF could toss the keg, making the leg-it user have to cancel. I was merely pointing out that the same thing can be done in reverse.

Oh, but the FF user won't be affected as much by this as the leg-it user.
A leg-it gunner would have to quit his leg-it, because of the keg's high range, he will still get hit. Even if he gets hit for only 15 damage, he will lose his leg-it. For a FF-gunner, a 15HP loss is nothing and can be quickly recovered (by using FF).

Anyway, you're right. The SR SG is too unreliable right now. Sometimes you own anything that is in front of you, and sometimes you just look like a fool with it. I stopped using it when I found out about the dual LR SG setup. Might actually start using SR + LR SG again when SR SG gets buffed.

And, I still use the SR/LR sg setup. It's fun. It's just slightly underpowered. On soldiers, you can't really beat a Cheeser + FF gunner, and when he just walks slightly out of your best range with leg it, you're done.

will that make any difference ?

1: in stealth they can't receive leg it speed bonus
2: how much faster does it make a mando run ? i barely see the difference TBH
3: your stealth is ruined since u have the leg it trail

You use the SR SG/LR SG setup on your soldier? That's quite unusual. Most people (that don't use SMGs) tend to go for the SR SG/LRP setup. With that setup you can finish off a 5FF cheeser.

sometimes i even use pirate pistol and gerharts on my soldier
look at it like a stronger sniper but without stealth and with the best healing ability ingame

That's no bug, that's to prevent from building up multiple abilities and using them at once and it encourages teamwork.

Why don't they give the Super/Uber versions of the MG's some few extra bullets? It's done with every other weapon for every other class but not for the MG's, ofcourse the 110-120-130 bullets have ofcourse an already large amount of potential devastation and it seems rather irrelevant, but it got some advantages for the developers too. Well actually just one: people will tend to buy the SUper/uber version more often and that's extra ping ping for EA. I've been talking about extra bullets but I don't actually expect a lot if it does get green light, an extra 5 bullets for your magasin would be more than enough I guess, it's just about the principle of Supers I think. Just a little thought...

i do get your point somewhere but still

I dont agree with you, all Uber/Super weapons have extra bullets, and MGs deserves it too.
