Adean
*Adean snoozed away, his canteen of root beer clutched tightly in his hand. He stirred as a flake of snow settled on his cheek. He sniffed, brushed it away, and rolled over.

Too late, he remembered that the resting place he had just vacated was near the top of a very tall tree. Suddenly wide awake, he reached out and tried to grab a branch before meeting a very unfortunate and messy end on the ground below.

His palm burned as the rough bark bit through his skin, but he caught himself about midway down. He scrambled onto the branch, and took several deep breaths to calm his speeding heart. Then, he remembered where he was. He looked up.

Snow drifted lazily down through the branches of the woods. The ground below was littered with leaves, needles, and roots. In the distance though, there stood a tall tower, and atop it waved a red flag.

Adean pulled out an old pair of dented binoculars. He looked out at the watchtower far away. The tower rested on a snow covered hill. The hill was surrounded by woods, but a road ran right past the tower, cutting a curving path through the trees. Darn roadblocks. They messed everything up for the Royal army.

Adean reached for his canteen of root beer, and took a long swig before beginning the climb down. It was time to get moving. Hopefully the other royals in the woods were waking as well, preparing for the attack. And hopefully, the Nats were still snug in their bunks, not expecting that they were about to be very rudely awakened....*

((There is a tower on a hill, surrounded by woods. A road runs close to the tower, where a national roadblock is placed. The Royals start in the woods. The Nationals start in the tower. No flashy entrances please. All RP forum rules apply. Have fun!))

((What the hell is with noobs spamming RP's these days?))
((Using my Royal Central army dude - Mark Bee))
Mark slowly regained the feel of himself and the body of his CKS rifle. His eyelids gradually opened up. They were greeted by falling snow and sunlight penetrating the clouds, warming everything up. Immediately, he thought of where he was. He was had been sleeping against one of the many trees there. Getting up from his relaxed sitting position, he rose up to his feet, standing on his black cloth shoes. Putting his dark green steel helmet on, loading up his rifle and equipping his long, sword blade bayonet, Mark gradually trudged through the thick snow and dense pine trees in an attempt to find some allies in the bitterly cold vicinity.

(Mein gott, Adean is back! It's almost like a miracle...)

Franz couldn't bear his curiosity to look around as he walked down the hillside road and to his post, but soon he found out that there isn't much to see. There were just trees, all around this place, reaching far beyond sight, a makeshift road was created to allow better passage to the oh-so important tower, and, directly in front of him, a roadblock, with two sentry posts at the side, and two machine guns set up beside them. He sighed, shrugged the rifle strap to the back, and resumed heading for his post, while the crickets chirped away in the middle of the night.

(Rats. I'm still not getting back that hype I used to have.)

Why did I come back? -.-'

,Major Chunks, a tall heavy-set man, sipped at his stone cold coffee while checking his gear. While he would have preppared it nice and hot, he had made the strict order not to prepare any fires, lest the Nationals be alerted to their presence. He had to make sure that order was maintained, especially by setting an example for the rest of the troops.
Tonight was the night they assaulted the watchtower. It was a somewhat strategic point that would allow anyone who controlled it to direct artillery fire more effectively. Many of the men had grumbled how it was just another watchtower and there were plenty of others. But for some reason, the brass wanted them to take this one specifically. The Major was wanted for this mission. He had no complaints, he only replied with his signature salute and cheerful, "yes, sir!".
Major Chunks stared at the tower, trying to assess it, take it apart floor-by-floor. He was speculating what kind of resistance the Nationals would put up, when he felt a pat on his shoulder.
"Sir?" said one of the soldiers, a corporal by the name of Wilson. "The men are ready to go. Shall we attack?"
Major Chunks looked at the man, smiled, and said, with confidence, "Not yet, my boy. I say we give those Nats a few more minutes of relaxation before we spring them. We need to make sure we still obtain the element of surprise. Check to see the men are in position, then wait for my signal." Wilson nodded and left. As he did, Chunks' signature smile faded, and he looked once more at the battlefield. He realized that more Royal blood would be spilt this night, something that always saddened him. Though he had engaged in battle with the Nationals many times, he could never shake off the sorrow that followed afterwards, when the number of casualties were counted. He had to make sure they could minimize losses as much as could possibly be done.
(This is the first time I've sent Mr. Chunks to battle since he visited the cafes. Basically, he's the only Royal in-game I've created (so far).)

(This is kinda like good luck stormin the castle right?)
As Mark carefully weaved his way through the tall trees, his nose was suddenly hit with a strange odour. It was a rather pleasant smelling one too. Root beer, it was - the fancy, iconic Royal drink. Led by the fragrant smell, he made a quick but cautious scan through the vicinity before continuing to walk forward. Then, he suddenly caught sight of a man-shaped figure. It appeared to look like an allied soldier. He was clearly standing next to a tall pine tree. Mark kept his careful advance and called out towards the figure, "Hey! Who goes!?"

Hudson tripped and fell, landing roughly in the thicket.

"Damn bushes, ya fricken *mumble* stupid bushes *mumble*"

Hudson climbed up and pushed on, catching his toe on a root he cursed, rather loudly. Before going on, he was here to set up a turret in a "Strategic" position. So he had picked this small hill, it had a great view of the entrance to the tower and shade...

Climbing up and out of the Thicket Hudson took an assesment of the ground before nodding, and then drawing his knife. Then he went BACK into the thicket and started cutting a path...after all he needed to get the sandbags and gun up to the hill....

((Ok, thanks for posting guys. This RP is open to everyone, no sign ups just like the old forgotten days. Just try to be serious and write well, or I may ask you to leave to help keep the story going. Also, be clear about which side you are on. I'm assuming that anyone posting in the forest is a royal, and anyone posting inside the tower is a nat. If this isn't the case, try to relocate yourself as soon as possible to keep things clean and clear. The action should start soon once most of the buildup is done.))

*His feet hitting the ground with a soft 'thump', Adean started heading back to the command post. The Major would be setting up gun emplacements near the road to fend off enemy reinforcements. Hopefully the soldiers setting them up kept them well within the tree line... it wouldn't do to have the enemy spot them before they were ready to strike.

As Adean pushed his way through the foliage he spotted another man approaching. Looked like a royal scout, judging by the way he was walking. He turned and hailed the man with his hand. After a brief exchange of names Adean learned that the scout, Mark, had found no perimeter guards in the woods either. This was good. The Nats were overconfident.

Adean then walked along with Mark back to the camp, where Major Chunks was waiting.

At exactly 0500, Adean and nearly 20 other scouts arrived in the small camp. Royal soldiers littered the ground with gear and mats. It had been a cold night. But they were ready. Adean, Mark, and other scouts wound their way through the tents, nodding in kind to the soldiers and gunners. All of them had that same look, the one of jacked up adrenaline before the big rush.

Adean spotted the Major near the edge of camp. He walked up to him, and saluted.*

"Major Chunks Sir! Lieutenant Muertrier and Eagle Company reporting! We have scouted all sides of the tower sir, no casualties. No enemy scouts were spotted, and all sides of the tower were assessed. No surprises. The woods are thick, and we are confident that our mission is not compromised in any way. We await your orders."

(Alright!)

Although the sentry hut was, in fact, no more than 30 metres away, Franz felt quite relaxed from the absence of enemies and the sounds of nature embracing him. He took slow, strolling steps, as he closed his eyes and sucks in some of the fresh air that danced around with the evening breeze.

Then, angry stomps of the army-issued boots began to overtake the crickets as the dominant sound, and Franz opened his eyes in surprise. In front of him was a sergeant, a burly man about a whole head taller than Franz. His eyes were flaming with anger, and his mouth spat fire as he bellowed at him.

"WHAT DID YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, PRIVATE?! THIS IS WAR, NOT SOME KIDDY PICNIC!!"

"Ser- sergeant!" Franz stuttered as his boots snapped together and he came to attention.

"YOU'RE ALREADY 10 MINUTES LATE TO YOUR POST!!" The Sergeant screamed. "NO SUPPER FOR YOU TONIGHT!! AND GET TO YOUR POST, DOUBLE-TIME IT!!" Ending with a forceful poke of his finger, the Sergeant stormed off towards the tower. Once the Sergeant walked away, Franz immediately ran as he continued to feel as if his rear was gone, cold sweat dripping down from under his black helmet.

Why did I come back? -.-'

Hudson hauled the large 30.cal up the hill, it was heavy...and hard to carry through the roughly cut thicket. But eventually Hudson managed to get the 30.cal onto the hill and safely under the tree.

Now, he had to go back and get the sandbags and ammo...as well as the other supplies,

"Darn this fricken *mumble*"

Hudson sighed as he climbed back down into the thicket and started back for his stack of supplies at the bottom of the hill....

(I don't feel as imaginative as the days before, but I'll try to contribute as much as possible. The RP forum can't afford to lose Adean again.)

Franz continued to hurry to his empty sentry hut, almost oblivious to most of the surroundings, including a rock near his feet.

"*Pant, pant* I gotta... Whoop!"

Franz felt himself flew through the evening breeze and landed face-first on the dry dirt. To make things worse, his rifle absorbed the momentum and smacked his upper spine squarely.

"Ach! This is definitely not my day."

Why did I come back? -.-'

"Excellent work, boys," Major Chunks said, grinning. "Okay, alert Charlie Squad and tell them they can attack at any time. They will draw off National fire, then rendevous with Able Squad to try and catch them in a pincer move. In the meantime, I will lead Baker Squad and assault the town, with Dog Squad acting as support. Got it, chaps? Alright, to your posts."
As they ran through the forest, he shouted after them, "And do your best, boys!"

"What the? Where is everyone?" Private Ian Peterson mumbled. Ian Peterson was fresh from the base with new equiptment and was ordered to meet up with Major Chunks and his squad. Ian was following a road 'cause half the time he didnt know where he was going. "Stupid commanders! Why didnt I just get assigned to some other-" Before Ian could finish the sentence, he spotted the watchtower. "This must be it" he grumbled. Ian Peterson secured the medical pouch on his back and put his Colt .45 in his hand.

John felt his gear. Grenades, pistol, and a thompson. God damn royals have to always start in the rough areas while the Nats get to sit down on a freakin' nice couch... John thought and he heard what Major Chunks said to all the royals in the forest. John was of course with the Major.

He was always the person to be picked for the hardest objective. He was considered to be a sharpshooter, but he decided his specialty would be close quarter combat. Although his decision stunned some royals, he worked up to it and was good at it. As John stopped thinking about these things in his mind he heard "Alright, to your posts." He smiled, he was glad that he didn't have to run far away in the forest since his duty was with the Major.

"And do your best, boys!" John pulled his bolt back and clipped on some ammo. He then went, not to far, to a tree, camping, looking at for Nationals. John was now waiting for his next orders from the Major. It was true though that John was scared and far from being comfortable with the Major's objective.

(This ain't my day either. Two dudes that like to go on the same server as I do started questioning my agility and called me a hacker, then the server, along with all my favourites, crashed. I suppose it was because of the new patch.)

Franz lay on the middle of the road for a while to recover from his shock.

"Mein gott..."

He shrugged off his rifle and used it as a support while he struggled to get on his knees, then stood up, and put the rifle back on his back. Taking a deep breath, Franz began marching towards his post, while humming a little National tune.

Why did I come back? -.-'

Adean
((Hokay, time to get this started.))

"And do your best boys!"

"Yes Sir!!"

Adean turned to his squad. "Simmons! Report to Charlie Squad. Tell them to strike from the right side on my mark. Palmers, I want you and your spotter to get up on that hunting roost you set up. Watch the roads, and any gun placements they have on the tower. The rest of you, get to your posts, and await the signal. Eagle Company, lets move!"

A series of "Ooh rahs!" sounded off as Eagle Company separated into small groups of 1 and 2 commandos each. They were good men. A little green, but they'd get the job done.

Adean's job was much harder. He had to get inside the tower and take out their communications before the enemy was able to call reinforcements. And that required stealth. And speed.

"Jenkins!" A wiry man with grease on his face and hands ran forward. "Is the signal ready for sound off?" Jenkins smiled. It wasn't a nice smile. Adean smiled back. "Good."

He headed into the woods. The soldiers and gunners in the camp formed up with Major Chunks, ready to charge on the signal. Eagle Company stood posted in the woods, lining up their shots, ready to strike where needed. Guns were placed on the roads to ward off reinforcements. It was a great plan, and it was being pulled off without a hitch.

That's usually when things go wrong....

Adean shouldered his way to the edge of the wood, staying low and quiet. He saw the road. He stopped. The watchtower loomed overhead, a tall gray pillar of gloom and doom. How National.

The roadblock was manned by two bored looking guards. A truck idled nearby, another national sitting on the edge of the canvas covered bed, eating a sandwich. They chatted in their weird language. Adean looked at his watch. 20 seconds.

He wondered if he should have eaten more before coming?

12 seconds.

He idly scratched his chin. Maybe Jenkins had crossed the wrong wire or something....

8 seconds.

Bah, Jenkins never messed up.

3 seconds.

Pickles and pretzels sound pretty good right about now...

2.

1.

...

KRAK-BOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!

The truck exploded into a huge ball of fire. The National enjoying his lunch would be eating dinner in Hell. The other two guards jumped in surprise and grabbed their weapons.

KRAK! KRAK!

The two nats fell, fresh holes neatly inserted between their eyes. Good shooting Palmers.

Adean ran. He sprinted forward, vaulting over sandbags and flipping over barbed wire. He bolted for the base of the tower, where a thick door stood ajar. A National head poked out, looking at the smoking wreck of the truck. He saw Adean approaching. The National's eyes widened. Adean whipped out his pistol. He fired.

The National spun about, flinging the door wide open. Adean dived in. Another guard stood with his gun raised. Adean dived. Gunfire peppered the wall over his head. He rolled, and came up at the National's feet. Springing upwards, he drew his blade and with one quick motion slit the guard's throat. The body crumpled to the floor.

Adean stood inside the watchtower. He turned, and headed towards the stairs. Time to find that radio....

((Bottoms up guys. Start shooting.))
