Do you have an 1-3 second freeze in-game?

Thats true that Sunset freezes more that other maps last year when I quit playing it was a main reason -after entering that map Heroes was freezing all over until you did computerrestart and a another thing is that when you start playing Heroes after a peroid of not playing all is fine until you perform good-then you start get these freezes and lags and kicks-which leads me think you get tagged as potential CHEATER by the game/admin/complaints/punkbuster/a human being thus then making your live a chitty experience to make you quit Heroes.Which is sad since nobody good will play EA or punkbuster games...

My Problem:
Freeze on start is normal, because loading of customizations. But i have big freezes when i´m in game. It is so frustrating, because it also happens very often when im fighting with enemies, and that destroyed my stats not only one time. Playing the game makes no fun anymore, but i have this just since one week or a bit more

Like others here the lag and lost connection and losing packets has just left me with no other choice then to leave this place. Been playing near on a year with no troubles until the last update.

As already stated EA dont give a toss as long as the bucks keep rolling in and recently theve made a tidy packet with the advent calender and supply drops. These issues will only be addressed when the profit margins drop.

I'll pop back to see if any future updates put right the problems but I'll not hold my breath.

Do you really think this will be fixed? I am still waiting for a bug that first appeared in the November 2009 update. Then this hideous freeze got introduced. On 90% of the servers PunkBuster has a service running called Punkbuster Screenshot (pbss) this takes screenshots of you while playing. When a screenshot is taken I freeze in game.

But what happens with the screenshots?
EA does not ban people if they see a screenshot, it is not legal proof of a cheater
The only thing is that server admin can see if someone is cheating with a wallhack (because aimbots don't alter the game layout) but with an new/good cheat you are able to let the PBSS images turn out totally black.

So again, why do we have this service in the first place?

Totally true. The non-pb servers runs good, no freezes.
PB is only good against old hack programs or simple hack-programs, it can verify aimbots and kicks the player.
But most players don't use cheats, instead most players hate cheaters and will never cheat theirselfs. And if 0,001% cheats, and 99,998% not, punkbuster should remove the screenshot feature at server. This just to filter some cheaters, but keeps us (loyal players) playing.
Because I can't play on PB servers, I freeze every 30 seconds.

Now what I find disturbing is the lack of acknowledgment from the officials. They don't dare label this "Fixed" because the known user fixes aren't practical and work for random users. So i guess they ignore it hopping people will lose interest.

But correct me if I'm wrong, more users playing the game as it should be played would yield more money EA's way. I doubt fixing some minor issues would be financially challenging for a big company like this. So this means they either don't care to or don't know how to fix this; the latter being also a form of ignorance. And the "we don't have enough time/people/resources" excuse is like a 4th grader saying the dog ate his homework.

So EA doesn't care to make more money from an obvious cash cow, contradictory to their policy so far ?

I tried a lot of PB Battlefield Heroes Servers and I've something.
Freeze: 3 seconds, every 30 seconds.

I kept playing each server for like 5 to 10 minutes.
After 20 freezes or so, I got an error.

The error is Losing Key Packets 9014
This only happens when you keep on the freeze server for several minutes (like 5 to 10 mins).
Don't give up, but stay!

I sent this to Even Balance. This proves that the freezes is because of Punkbuster.
Also because I dont freeze at non-PB servers.

Losing Key Packets... I don't use firewall or virusscan. Got a great wired connection (also because I never lag on non-pb servers). 30mbps download, 3mbps upload.

http://en.kioskea.net/faq/8280-freeze-ba...-company-2 These are some fixes for Battlefield BC2. I used one of them and it helped eradicate my lag on entry (the Realtek one). Maybe some of these will work for you.

PS: Almost every search on google regarding PB is full of forums complaining about the same stuff people do here. And the fixes are scarce; and they don't work for everybody.

yes my lag is HORRIBLE when it freezes it goes about 10-20 seconds and when i walk the screen shakes this and the sniper rifle recoil glitch is the 2 worst thing that have ever happened too me in a video game

The sniper recoil is unrelated to this error, though the combination of these two errors can make it worse than for someone who plays Gunner and/or Soldier more often than sniper.

Just did the Realtek update, and hope it also helps out on this.

I`ve come to a point where i subconsciously wish that it is something on my own computer, while knowing that PB has been bugging most players since last update, including me. Oh well...

Wow this has been going on for more than a year. I started playing this yesterday after not playing it for about a year, and the lag is TERRIBLE! Had no connection issues before I went on vacation from the game. Way to go, EA. Just another game developer that doesn't care about anything but profits.

Man, I was excited to play this game again...

Yes, I did every possible thing to solve the problem.
Even had Live Chat with EA. Have tickets running at Even Balance, reinstalled computer, reupdated everything.. it is Punkbuster problem.
EA don't gonna fix it. Because EA is not the problem, but Punkbuster in the first place.
In the second place, EA should fix an own Punkbuster-thing.. and fire Punkbuster beeing messing up BFH.

I might found the problem!!!!

I freezed every 30 seconds in that game I did, in 2nd round (in the same map) I got "PnkbsterB heartbeat stopped"... I didnt get kicked.
The 2nd round and 3rd round I played with no more freezing!!

It seems to be in PnkbsterB.

When the NEW map begun (round 1), I got the freezes again. It seems that if the new map is loading, pnkbsterB is loading again.

I'm going to try some tricks this week.
I will let know when I got the alternative solution perm.!
